I've had an account with them before, I've also had accounts with siteserving, bluehost and a few others. Most of them all alright, I did quite like the siteserving one... cause they have a really nice interface, and some amazing stats... that one stood out for me... the bluehost one and hostgator ones where quite simular... both seem to lack data... like alot of my referrals came from S. Africa... and on hostgator kept showing up as Columbia... I have no idea... the bluehost one -- they where a bit strange but more or less fair. That's my exp so far.

blue host and hostgator were owned and set up by the same person.
If you are going to have a lot of traffic coming form outside of the US then I would stay away from hostgator as chances are you will not get paid on them

They dont pay for the non us customers. I had two clients purchasing using my link while working on their site. I realized that none of them were registered by hostgator. The clients were from UK. Affiliate commision shaving is quite common thesse days, blame inflation and other stuff for that.

Yea hostgator seems to find ways to not pay your for your commissions.

I never had problem with hostgator they paid in time if the sale is not noted call the support tell your client details ask client to send email to [email protected] and they will credit the lead for you
i suggest go for CJ instead of direct hostgator as it pays only $50 for first 5 leads but CJ pays $100

I use them through CJ. When you get a lead, HostGator extends it to the next shut off date. Right before the extended shut off date, they disqualify it. Atleast, that's what they've done to me.

Never had a problem at all. More than 30 commissions. Mostly from a very white hat blog I own and from offline clients.

I was doing around 100 referrals a month, and according to HG, they all backed out, so I was only paid for about 5 a month.

I get about 7 to 10 sales a month. Pretty nice payout for little work. You have to be on TOP of if as a few do fall through the cracks.
I had to fight them when two of my students signed up right before my eyes and someone else got the commission!! I was like WTF!!!???
That aside the payouts are good fo people joining for $1 or even $0.1 LOL
p.s. it is Even WORSE with commission Junction reselling Hostgator ... too many missing sales
I still give it a 7 out of 10 cuz pay is good
