So I've been trying to make an authority site lately, I'm just starting up and have been outsourcing some articles and writing others. I've been trying to write articles for topics that are easy to rank for in google. I've got some things I need opinions on.

    1. Should I keep writing for things that are only easy to rank? Should I branch off into harder things to rank?
    2. Should I use SenukeX/Scrapebox on this? I use them on my Microniche sites to get rated high quickly, but idk if it would look legit if I had that on everyone of my articles.
    3. How often should I post? Once a day, 3 times a week. etc.

I just want to hear some opinions on these things :)

First off, definition of an authority site. Google sees a site as authority when a few or most of the sites in your niche neighborhood links to you.

In your case, what you are trying to build is a site that can get a ton of traffic after months of hardwork. I hope i am right. If yes, here are some suggestions:

    1. Start with the long tail key phrases; You will have to be aggressive in the keyword research. Do not just depend on adwords tool for your kw. Make the most of every other opportunity to do that. Get into the head of people searching in google for your niche related kws and see what else they could possibly search for in a search engine. Aggressive keyword research can bring EXPLOSIVE traffic after a while. I really mean that. At the same time, make sure that your posts do not look like MFA or spam. That is very important, too.

    2. I never used such tools because i want my site to be alive and kicking for a long time to come and not just a short term money maker. It is your call whether to use it. My suggestion: Do not, if you want this site to keep getting trust over years and one day, become a 5k or 10k per money maker,

    3. Regular posting does bring out a lot of positive effects on the site. Posting at least once a week is always good.

Thanks for your opinion :). I also use market samurai and Traffic Travis on my keyword research.

They all depend on you, what your budget is like etc.

I would just focus on one moderate-hard keyword and dive in head first.

As long as you have 15+ HIGH quality articles you're fine, focus more on quality backlinks instead.

While this may not be the quickest way, I made my first authority blog completely white hat. I made 7 500+ word posts per week, perfectly optimized for whatever keyword I was aiming for, and did this for about 3 months. After that, I got enough natural links to my website and enough quality content that google fell in love with me. That's basically what I did for two of my blogs. Many people will believe this requires too much hard work, though.

Did you write all those articles yourself?

Do you still update those sites now that google "loves" you?

how many visitors do you get and how much money do you make from it? i would like to get a rough idea.

i'm working on my own site at the moment, a news site. i'm planning to post multiple times a day.

could you please explain what "perfectly optimized" means? what exactly do you do?

    thanks for any advice! :D

Market samurai and traffic travis are not enough for the aggressive kw research. Like i said, you will have to get into the minds of searchers in your niche to unravel a whole new world of kw phrase possibilities.

    Home Page:
Write 500 + word articles targeting easy to rank keywords, do on page SEO, SENUKE X / AMR / BMD, then blast those links pointing to your money site with Xrumer/SB sit back and watch the site rank.

Rinse and then repeat. Maybe flip 1 or 2 sites after you have succeeded to rank and make the sites earn $10 + per day, so you can out source for more sites.

I did write all the articles by myself. I do not update those websites anymore because I am looking for more automated means of earning money. I've become lazy, lol.

I get about 100 - 120,000 unique visitors per month. I am using it pretty much strictly for link juice on some of my CPA targeted websites. So I guess it's indirectly making me CPA money. The amount of money one makes depends on the niche, of course.

As for perfectly optimized, I just meant I did everything in my power to optimize the page. One outbound link in every couple of articles to a relevant authority website, image tags relevant and readable, easy-to-read sentences, well organized content, etc.

My blog was a news blog as well.

Well, personally, I'm doing both. Over the last month, I've launched about 10 smaller niche sites (1500 to 3500 exact match searches). Those are fairly easy to rank. And provide a nice amount of change on the side, and ALSO can be sold for a nice amount.

Over the last few days, I've been doing a lot of research, and have decided I will be starting an authority site over the next few days. I'm looking to target a keyword that gets between 40,000 to 90,000 exact match searches. I want to build a site that will bring me money for years to come. And the good thing with bigger sites like this, is that they are far easier to manage. I only have around $800 to invest at the moment, but I'm working on getting some money together. So my advice? Have an authority site, and some small niche sites on the side as well.

That's almost word for word what I'm doing. I currently have probably 5 or so Small niche sites up and should finish a couple more this week. My question is for your authority site, your only targeting one keyword? I chose a broad keyword, Computers, which I know is saturated but can be used for loads of smaller niches from the one site. Not to mention I'm currently writing my own articles and I'm interested in computer related things so it makes it easier to work on the site.

Authority vs. Micro , I think people with "small budget" who want to have an authority site should focus on a more specific niche within a niche, for example, Ewokson said his niche is computers, so what I would do is, instead of buying a domain like computerguru.com and putting out articles on anything computer related. I would focus on for example, video cards, buy a domain called videocardsguru.com and make that an authority site, theres still allot of keywords to rank for for video cards alone. Just my $0.02

    Bump.

In your guy's experience with Authority site, how long does it usually take to start seeing results? What kind of backlinking should I be doing? I'm going full whitehat on this site despite having scrapebox/senukeX/

Bump. Anybody know high quality writers who can get things done consistently in under 24 hours?

If the writer is any good you're not likely to get it back in 24 hours. If they have a team of writers you may be able to. What you need to do is pace your articles out so they come in small groups to allow you time to post them. Or just order a big bulk of them and post them over time.

Just check the BST section for writers, ask for samples and read reviews. If you want higher quality articles expect to spend about $1.50/100 words on the low end. You can find some newer writers who will do it for $1/100 words but anyone under $1/100 is probably not an native English speaker and/or has poor writing skills.
