Last year I ready quite a few threads on PBNs, I wasn't looking to build a big network and instead ended up buying a few clean domains and building a couple of sites to monetize. In other words, I was interested in the subject but didn't have the time to upkeep a really good network.
However, this year, I'm coming up on a summer with a little more leeway in how I spend my time so I think I want to actually try building a small network. There were two main ideas that had some people at odds with their opinion.
1. Blocking crawlers. Those that were for it like to keep them completely private, away from the prying eyes of competitors. And then there were some that thought it was just asking for a slap from Google should there be a review. I tend to agree with the latter.
2. This is my main interest right now. I seem to remember some people being for and against scraping content from Wayback.
Yeah, I got a little free time on my hands, but why not work smarter instead of harder? I put an exhaustive amount of time into creating content for my money site as it is, it would be harder to build convincing 5 or 6 PBN sites within the same niche if I'm already mentally spent on my money site.
Yeah I know I can hire a writer, but to me, it looks more legit to have that pre-built content written in a natural tone. The domains I buy are clean and were once upon a time, a legit site. Why not take advantage?
And on that note, has anybody ever had someone contact them about repurposing their old site? (An angry individual who forgot to or couldn't pay their bill, losing their site only to see you propping it right back up as a front.)
