opinion on these options

Going to start a new site and thinking about how to best position it domain-wise:

My options are like
clickxxxx
linkxxxx
seoxxxx
where xxxx= something generic, but catchy, like 'blue'

while i know the importance of putting a kw in the domain name, i'm wondering if it is better to focus on a brand rather than worrying about getting 'seo' in the name.

i'm thinking that with something original, it is much easier to get to top 3 than if i'm fighting it out with thousands of other seoxxxx.com's

i've been able to rank sites that are emd and non-emd for niches like hotels and dating, and i don't see a great deal of difference. i may also try doing more offline promo with the business, and i'm thinking it may evolve into not just seo services, but building sites, etc...so again, wondering if trying to get 'seo' in the name is worthwhile.

your thoughts?

If its for your business and not the niche sites that are solely relying on EMD factor then their is nothing bad in choosing brandable domain. Even brandable domains look much better than keyword domains in this case. So go for brandable domain if you feel its better for the business name or brand name.

if you have experience in ranking non EMD domains and are going for offline promotion, IMHO go for branded one.
