Hi wanted to know your opinion on reciprocal link exchanges, work to position for anchor text or not work?
I ask this because it has always been said that non-reciprocal are what really count.

    Greetings and thanks

I think reciprocal link exchange are not effective anymore. Google disregards them as it is an easy way to get links. Though when your links lands on a link farm sort of page or portion, you'll end up in Google's hell.

I disagree. Google may discount them, but does not disregard them. I have had very good results from reciprocal links from sites that rank well for my keywords in other cities. If you are marketing a product or service locally, look to similar sites in other cities.

I strongly disagree with you, where did u go to SEO school? I've been doing this for years and I've always followed my basic rules and strategies and one of my rules is reciprocal link exchanges.

You'll want to use your anchor text as your best possible keyword, google will recognize this and give you more link juice for the keywords and sub keywords.

Always trade links with relevant sites only. Don't link to autoblogs or crappy sites, link to quality sites. I link to people ranked top in google for the particular keyword I use in the anchor text. This works wonders!
