Routing number is separate number assigned to financial institutions. It is not separate for every account holder. The nine digit code written on checks is Routing no.!

Most banks provide this info as soon as your papers are looked at. You can't open an accoutn 100% online, you'll need to send in all sorts of paperwork and they'll verify it all before you receive your acct #.

I don't know of a single bank in the US that allows you to open up an account with them, online, in which they give you these details immediately.
However, opening an account in person is a different story. I think just about any bank will give you these things immediately, if done in person.
