Opening a Stand need help!

So basically i was at my flee market this weekend and there was a rent sign on one of the stalls. 8 foot by 8 foot stall, $600 a month, and it's only open on weekends, btw i live in Toronto Canada. Benefits of the flee market are no tax. As well i will need some else to help me sell/ security i can get a guy for $7.50 a hr.

Know what i need help on, what should i sell and where do i get it. All help will be appreciated.

Well keeping in the spirit of bhw I think anything cheap, new and cool is good, but have a stereo blasting hypnotic suggestion embedded in nice music to keep the crowd coming and spending....

There was a "Theme Park" thread a week or so ago that had this. But your opportunity would let you put a flea market twist to it.

Set up 4 pc's on 4 aircards...

Have 4 sites loaded with email, zip submits, surveys in a CLEAN layout, nice and natural looking. With a consistant theme and header like "Consistent Research " or other sum such title.

Then spend a few dollars (less than 200 US can do this) for a nice refurb computer and monitor. Make your signs for FREE COMPUTER Giveaway. Make the giveaway last all month so your $600 booth and $200 computer gives you a fixed cost of $800 for the month.

Then you and another stand in the aisles, get people to come take a survey... Which also fills out a zip submit, email submit, etc. in all those iframes.

Be sure to talk to your AM's first.. 100 sets of submits from 4 ip addy's will bring attention. So get it cleared first.

But 100 submits on three offers minimum a day? Two days a week for a month. that's 800 surveys, 800 zip submits and 800 email submits (and you've got an email list of local people to exploit later too).

That would make bank.

Buy cheap china goodies (headsets cost down to 0.89 USD per piece) and mass sell those fuckers in that stall!! Think of the profit..5 dollar for a headset; who wouldn't buy that? That's nearly 300% profit per headset sold. Only need to get rid of a little over 1/3 of your inventory and youre break even!!

maybe even take a walk through the fleamarket to see what is selling well. main thing is people want a deal and no one spends big bux at a flea market (well, except maybe antique dealers finding what to them is a bargain), so find something u can sell inexpensively yet still make a nice profit on it.
also the people selling beverages or food seem to do really well too, esp on hot days. not sure if you need licensing to do that, but even cans of soda out of a cooler in addition to whatever else you sell -- you will definitely sell water/soda on a hot day.

always GO BIG. never have a piddly amount of shit on your stall.
second make it look very expensive or very cheap depending on some factors.
best advice is to see who is making the most money and copy him. even go to another market to spy there.
dont employ anyone untill you know your product. ie hot chick sells clothing hot guy sell tech old lady sells crafts. etc

I would go to the market one day and just sit, don't really walk around, but just sit and crowd watch. See what kind of people come in. Then watch those people and see what interests them. I am female of 23 so when I go I'm always looking for jewelry and awesome little knick knacks.

ha Designsmith can you get those bug-in-a-nut thingys?, I had a m8 doing weed paraphernalia and odds n sods... the bug-in-a-nut did fantastic... this though was a travelling summer market in devon, you mentioned wire products? is this jewellery?.
Another bloke on the market sold balloons filled with wet flour, painted faces on the balloons, he'd stand in kids way and throw them at them, mummy i want one, a quid to you luv.... a quid!
I had the food concession - i got nearly 20 yrs market history - but on very hot days i'd set up an inflateable kids swimming pool and fill it with cans of pop..
Outside markets are great in the summer months in the uk, flea markets i've know tend to be indoors.
