Opening a brand new Clothing Line - Tips needed.

Hello guys,
Over the past 6 months i've been working on a ''project''
Before I do go on and tell you all about it, I want to introduce myself, So I am Alfie, im 18 years old living in London.
Now ive been working on creating a brand new clothing line which i'll be selling in a online store, now i've contacted china and suppliers, got amazing prices, got things going designs etc, now my items are arriving this week ( my stock ) around 300 shirts and 300 snapbacks, so now i've come to the point where I am stuck, Im thinking of purchasing an online store from BigCartel, or GoDaddy but they limit your ability to customize alot, I've purchased up to now a domain, so im looking for advice from you guys, on what to do, do I buy an online store? do i contact a web designer ?

Have you checked wordpress plugins? I'd imagine they have some good estore plugins.

Welcome Alfie.

My advice, and not just because I'm a web designer, but because it makes the most sense, is to get a website with Wordpress and a simple Ecommerce plugin set up. You should be good to go once that is done.

Hey guys, Im quite non experienced with all designing and building, never heard of wordpress, and Ecommerce won't it be more simple for me just to purchase a ready shop?

Well, someone would have to set the shop up first. Ecommerce is basically a fancy word for "Online Shop".
 
Try Shopify. its easy and fancy..
I use Woocommerce but recommend Shopify for the sake of simplicity
 
First you need a good website. If you have the budget and arent familiar with it you should consider letting an expert do the work for you. It has to look legit and appealing if you want to sell anything. Now you have to find a way to drive targeted traffic to it. Just this forum alone will give you many tips on how to accomplish this task. An easy way to start is being present in Social Networks like Instagram or twitter. Upload quality content and boost your traffic with simple bots e.g liking based on hashtags that fit your niche. Next thing you know you will get your first sales and you will start to expand quickly :)

Thank you very much for this helpful tip,
And ofcourse im thinking first of the site before i aim for traffic, and yes budget is not a problem, as you do need to start from somewhere, and im not sure if finding someone on here is an answer to this, but i better get looking, and thank you very much again.
 
I would start with bigcartel at first and depending on the response and the amount of profits I get from my initial launch, I can then make the choice of either investing in a bigger site or improve my clothing brand designs.

I'm a younger entrepreneur myself (20, nearly 21) and I have dealt with a similar situation before.

I am working with a small clothing line now as a client, and they have requested that I make them a custom website with BigCartel tied into it on a custom subdomain.

I advised them that this isn't smart in the long run, but for the beginning of the venture it will keep your costs down. When you begin making sales you can upgrade to something more along the lines of e-commerce and work from there.

Screw all the complicated crap dude.
Go with shopify. There are tons of custom themes you can get if necessary, just make sure it's a responsive theme.

The themes look great and there's quite a few of stores using Shopify to give you some ideas.
You get a free 14 day trial and it's super easy to work with, with lots of awesome plugins.

I'm actually launching a t-shirt line online soon and have chosen shopify to start with.
I actually have a big.cartel account as well and although it's a bit cheaper, it doesn't even come close to the ease of use and options of shopify.

I took Volusion, you get nice templates and a great support. I thnik support counts the most as you will need it in the long run.
