Opened a Computer Store

Hi there,

I just recently opened up a computer storefront in Minnesota (USA) for doing sales & repairs. Right now, we bought the inventory that already existed, which consisted of random networking equipment, desktops, and laptops. I'm looking to get some fresh inventory and hopefully find a steady avenue for a wholesale route, but don't have the cash to buy huge amounts; maybe 1-5 at a time, but I would go to this seller for multiple items and be a repeat customer if the items sell.

I'm looking for anything that goes in a computer store that has a decent profit margin. Tablets, laptops, smartphones, routers, accessories, video games, consoles, possibly TV's here and there (maybe), and anything else I'm not thinking of at the moment.

P.S. Our business also does Managed IT services, where we can monitor systems for businesses and perform preventative maintenance, updates, remote support, chat, security settings, etc. all from the cloud on any Windows (tested and working on Windows 10), Linux, or Mac OS. Not sure if that will help with ideas, but just thought it was worth a mention.

I also have a store and want to order some items but the main problem is at border . Anyone know how much taxes we need to pay ?

Good luck with your new business, as in any business effort and time you put into it will translate to success or not.

Congrats OP and my advice is to use Internet to get more sales also via Website and get a marketing company for it

Thanks! I do plan on putting some of our inventory online and hopefully starting an Amazon/eBay store or something in addition to our current website. I have a small marketing company helping out with things like business cards, flyers, etc. More physical side of things. The big thing is more inventory and a way to replenish it.

And maybe some online marketing/exposure.
