In today's fast-paced digital world, businesses and developers are constantly seeking innovative tools to streamline workflows, enhance creativity, and drive results.
And their desire is realizing by AI technologies.
There are two top competitors at the front of the race.
OpenAI and DeepSeek
Why I post about these two AI on this making money forum?
AI is future-oriented technology to make money and grow your business anyhow. Tomorrow will be Age of AI as you know.
Now then let's see one by one.
DeepSeek is Open-source AI launched lately focusing on Specialized AI tools for marketing, coding, education, and customer support while OpenAI is focusing on General-purpose AI for wide range of applications, including natural language processing, coding and creative tasks.

What do you think?
  • Choose OpenAI if:
    • You need a versatile, general-purpose AI for diverse applications.
    • You’re working on large-scale or enterprise-level projects.
    • You’re comfortable with technical customization and higher costs.
  • Choose DeepSeek if:
    • You’re focused on specific use cases like marketing or coding.
    • You’re a small business or individual looking for affordable solutions.
    • You prefer a user-friendly, beginner-friendly platform.
According to the result of your vouches, I am going to start my AI journey.
Maybe, SaaS or small plug-ins and add-ons for shopify or WP and etc.
What will I choose one for my journey, OpenAI vs DeepSeek

Votes cannot be casted as they seems to have a little bit of a difference in use cases

Both tools are going to keep improving and I'm less interested in the current state of affairs than how things would look a year or two from now. Both tools offer a lot and it's good for the end user to see more competition in the AI space. As improvements and new features are quite expensive to make, I expect that OpenAI still has a lot of aces up their sleeve and prefer it that way. They want to remain the market leader at the lowest possible cost. As DeepSeek rolls out new improvements and competitive models and functions, OpenAI will match them which will lead to more power available to the end user. Maybe there are other players who will enter the market as well. I'm surprised how inefficient and ineffective some supposed tech giants have been in this space so far.

If the theory of the dead internet wasn't true until now, it's getting there quickly and this will help a lot.

And regarding your journey, implement both. Choice is always a good option and as things change, it would be easier for you to improve and adapt if you don't have to make a switch. See if there is a third or even fourth option you can add.

DeepSeek is an AI developed in China, so I'm not sure if its data is influenced or manipulated when used so I haven't used DeepSeek yet and am still using ChatGPT

But you can choose one with your thought.

Sure, both will be developed further and Users will get pretty many things from those.
Anyway, I think open-source will be improved rapidly comparing to exclusive things. That's why I recommend DeepSeek.
DeepSeek is an AI developed in China, so I'm not sure if its data is influenced or manipulated when used so I haven't used DeepSeek yet and am still using ChatGPT
DeepSeek also better but i still use ChatGPT
I also use both of them and they have different advantages. But I feel better for Deepseek except for case of image generation.

  • If you need high-quality writing, creativity, coding, or chatbot applications, OpenAI is better.
  • If you want math-heavy problem-solving or an open-source alternative, DeepSeek might be interesting.

Deepseek is the best open source AI model currently available,
and if deployed locally,
its unique algorithm allows you to get a great experience using only a small amount of computing power.

Interesting to see the poll results so far. I had thought most people would still be using OpenAI, but it doesn't surprise me that many are switching to DeepSeek now.

This seems like a good one for the newsletter. Nice one starting this thread, @CEros.

Of course, I think that people prefer affordable and proficient. and DeepSeek has these benefits.
People can boost their business with DeepSeek as I guess.

still love to use openai

Yea …..I generated some questions using ChatGPT that dealt with dimensional calculations (which I found them very easy to solved) but when using deepseek with deep thinking on, the questions are very difficult to answer

Both are good but people say that deepsek perform way better than gpt don't know if is just people trying to hype and click bait to their content but others say is almost the same as gpt I'll go with gpt because is the one I'll being usin a lot but if I have the chance totest a little bit more deepsek could change my mind who knows.

Both are best in their own ways. I use chatGPT mostly but I've added DeepSeek R1 as well also the French one which is good enough.

I feel like DS is trained with data from OpenAI, just an educated guess.

O3 mini is pretty powerfull and I think the 4.5 GPT will be a beast.

I think both are good equally now.
But deepseek had help me complete a plugin development project from A to Z.

Open AI is more convenient to use and smooth searching. Deep seek was more focused on user security system. This is my personal user experience.
