What do you think about these two tools? Which one is better suited to your programming tasks? Maybe someone has examples where one clearly outperformed the other?

DeepSeek R1 understands my promts better + it's free while I've been using it for about a week and I'm happy with everything

It's crazy, an open-source project has appeared on the AI market that really challenges monsters like OpenAI and Microsoft. Despite the fact that they spent $6 million on R1. Who would have thought that open source development would be able to compete with corporate giants at such a level

I don't know how these benchmarks are done, but I've used not o1 and r1.
o1 is way way better

Me too.

I don't have experience on comparing o1 with deepseek r1, but Ive used Claude and its better than o1 for coding.
If you are using React, Claude will render the view and show how it looks for you so you can debug directly, that is awesome. If somebody knows if there is another AI that can render PHP, Python or NodeJS code on the go that will be absolutely amazing for people like me that are not that experienced with coding.

Openai obviously,
Deepseeks just a clone.

The question should be deepseek or grok.

Openai is bleeding edge tech that has run rampant outside Google's lab and is embarrassing them.

The difference is not much about results, but about prices you see a huge difference
Already canceled my subscription with OpenAI - long live to Deepseek

oh thats right. Chinese only know how to copy right?

use deepseek r1 because its unlimited and pretty much on par or maybe slightly worse than o1.

Personally I don't think Grok will have performance. Musk's latest breakdowns and wanting to be the top of everything just makes me doubt of it.
But who am I to say, I will start comparing performance on different tasks. Currently I am going to start into my SaaS journey.

elon musk is one of the worlds most influential men and deepseek proves they can build an ai on par with openai and claude and you don't think grok will have performance? you must be redacted. just try deepseek r1 for yourself.

Take advantage while you can, generate wealth, protect yourselves with gold, capitalism is in its final days and there is no model ready to replace it. Those who have a basic understanding of economics know what I'm talking about

Pricing is where OpenAI may lose to Deepseek at first.

Oh man deepseek is beast. I just coded a python bot. Dammn. RIP chatgpt

DeepSeek does crazy things. Watch how it will be attempted to get regulated within a month or two in the US like TikTok.

The key point people often forget is that OpenAI is offering everything as a service. Practically 70% of projects on platforms like BHW are powered by OpenAI. Meanwhile, the BHW200 is available at a staggering $75,000, while the H100 comes in at $25,000.

So based on deepseek it states it purchased one hundred thousand H100 at 2.5 billion dollars.

Still a nice profit for Nvidia.

There are many players in the space. Ilya Sutskever, OpenAI's co-founder and Chief Scientist, continues to lead innovation. Mira left OpenAI in 2024 to pursue her own venture. Demis Hassabis, the brain behind DeepMind, is pushing forward the narrative alongside Geoffrey Hinton in advancing LLMs and skepticism.

Gemini 2.0, developed by Google, has also introduced exciting new products, if you're smart enough to work it out.

However, hailing DeepSeek as the inevitable leader seems naive. Don’t overlook other players like Alibaba, whose research institute dwarfs DeepSeek’s in scale.

In chip manufacturing, ASML produce lithography machines from europe enabling TSMC to manufacture 4nm chips and soon transition to 2nm technology. TSMC Taiwan remains 2 to 4 years ahead of its U.S. operations, with production in the U.S. being 20–25% more expensive.

So yes asml in theory is like saying its America printing USD without incurring inflation because they can bill other countries for it.

Meaning tsmc USA Texas can now output 4n, but the catch is its owned by Tsmc Taiwan and costs more oddly.

China, under the Biden administration, acquired 7nm lithography machines from Europe. As a result, they are currently about four years behind the U.S. in chip production.

That guys stories sad losing a wife and daughter at the age of 30, and later son to brain cancer, but as a President he was useless stopping China acquiring ai hardware.

When it comes to training speeds, synthetic information will inevitably emerge, as seen in DeepSeek's R1 model, which acts somewhat like an agent conversing with itself.

Ultimately, it's not about who is better—it’s about what you do with the technology. Focusing on what's better as a consumer is a fool.

Take in mind that they spend $6M only because OpenAI spend billions before that.
