Maybe we'll see a browser from Open AI. A report from The Information claims that the developer has already produced a prototype of the browser that has tight integration with the chatbot Chat GPT.

Open AI has already challenged Google with a search service, so also releasing a browser would be a logical move - especially now that Google will possibly be forced to sell Chrome . The report further mentions that Open AI has begun discussions with Samsung regarding Galaxy AI – a suite of AI features that until now has been primarily powered by Google Gemini.

Would it really matter...
if they just use chromium underneath?
It be just another official brand "fork" like Edge/Brave/Opera etc
Which is all going to suffer if Google really does offload Chrome

Like even duck claims they ain't using chromium

But WebView2 relies on chromium..

at the end, it all goes back to Google's Chromium project..

at the end of the day, they may fool regular peeps who is dipping their toes in privacy (or AI) in this sense
they won't escape google really..

I think there is no official announcement yet, but there is a big chance. If they will pursue it could be intriguing, especially in the context of its growing involvement in AI and web-based tools.

As long as it uses bing index under the hood, it does not matter that much.
Google is already implementing Gemini everywhere, and they can catch up with openAI's new features in no time.

The indexing engine is what matters.

Maybe they’ll launch maybe they won’t. But they need to ensure they’re in the profits now otherwise they’ll face a whole different challenge. And so many media speculation about them so let’s wait and watch

Yeah will just be chromium but maybe they can do something interesting with it with AI. Doesn't sound too great though
