I've been playing with thin affiliate sites, and I didn't realize that my affiliate program frowns upon me using the actual product name in my domain name. I made one of my sites where the product name is the URL.

I blanked the referrer, so it looks legit now (I'm making it look like it comes from a legit site I have). But I already made a few sales before I did the blanking, maybe 3-5-ish.

Do you think the affiliate manager is going to notice that a handful of my sales for "company product xyz" are coming from "product-xyz . com"?

It's not a lot of money yet, but I get the occasional sale, and the product is newly launched- I expect a trickle for a year if I don't get smacked by a black and white animal. I'm ranked #5 in goog for "product name", behind the am-zon product page and three youtube vids. Very minimal SEO done at this point, and site is a month old.

I might be able to push it a bit and hit #1 until zoo animals put the smackdown on me. (how hard are those youtube vids and amazon pages to beat?)

I'm torn between selling the site on flippa, or riding it out. I imagine I could get a cease and desist notice, but then again, the company is off-brand, and they seem pretty lame at marketing - they don't even show up in the first three pages of google for their own products

Should I ride this out, or sell the site?

I used to do this all the time. Great for product launches
