Is it good for SEO to mention (to link) to big brand? like when i say google or wikipedia is it good to link to them too?

Yes it is a good practice.

Longer answer will be that it is ok to do that, you won't get in any trouble, but you will siphon some of the link juice so don't link to too many or try to nofollow the external links. Even so, if too many links to other websites, some of the users will leave your website through those links..

This is one of the best SEO strategy if you have the right budget. Because it usually costs a lot.

Yes, linking to authority sources makes your own content more valuable and thus possibly more authoritative, it is not necessarily something that will make a big impact in rankings all on its own, but it is believed to have a positive impact in conjunction with other factors. Imagine, from a human perspective, having a link to the sources of information mentioned in the article makes all the sense in the world and for a better user experience, which is what the search engines aim for when giving preeminence to a particular website.

You should read the question again, because something tells me you've read it wrong.. He wants to link from his website to the brand and not from the brand to his website. Linking from yuor website is free
