I mean... making an app can be as cheap as $500.
But something like OnlyFans could easily cost you 6 figures and up... Consider that you need to hire engineers, an anti-spam team, an accounting team, a support team, amazing hosting, the list goes on and on. It won't be cheap.

I didn't think that it can cost 6 figures and up but after you said about all these processes, it is possible. Now I should think more if I want to begin this journey.

So... something that handles payments, keeps them on hold, automatically forwards them after they've been cleared, protects against fraudulent transactions, hosts thousands of new images and videos everyday.... I'd say 6 figures onwards.

After all of these comments, I realize that it can cost so much. I thought that it cannot cost more than 5 figures because I read an article about only fans yesterday and all expenses were near to $40k. Maybe only the app's costs.

Creating the app can be cheap but marketing would cost you millions of $$ if you want to create anything near what Onlyfans is currently.

There are lots of expenses other than the developing costs. Think about hosting, moderation team, lawyers. But then again, Onlyfans was not Onlyfans since day one. You can start small and then expand, however you need a solid budget for an app like this.

I disagree. Onlyfans is lacking essential features (from email marketing to customization) and is still charging very high fees. I believe it's only a matter of time before OF is replaced by something bigger and better.

Being first is a major thing, like bitcoin, you need to bring more value than OF in order to beat them.

I don't want to become an onlyfans 2( I don't like this app) but it brings a good income. I think about an app where people speak live as an example and they pay only when using this app to speak.Creating an app wouldn't be that expensive compared to maintaining it and promoting it considered that you want to become the OnlyFans v2)

Despite its flaws, Onlyfans is already a very big player in the niche due to marketing. They got the biggest stars to open accounts with loads of cash.
The platform is just like Google. It will be very hard to defeat.

There's a bunch of platforms like onlyfans for other stuff, like patreon or similar.
You can hire someone at upwork to make you a similar app for a few thousand $.
