Hi guys,

Me and my partner are running a small but growing OF agency right now and we're really struggling with the banking situation it's made us extremely frustrated and hopeless at times. From what i've been reading I'm more worried about when we make more money and banks can potentially shut us down..

We are from the UK and currently have 1 model on with us (from moldova) and another coming next week (from argentina). We are trying to do things as a legitimate business we are set up as a limited company, have a website showing that we are a 'marketing and content creation agency' etc.. We've had serious issues with our first model that we're hoping to get rid of with our second. she had her paxum banned which then got our paxum banned and we were left with cosmo who have been extremely restricting and only allowing us to withdraw 7k usd a month through personal accounts.

As we are a business we only want money running through business accounts but obviously have to appear as a 'marketing agency'. We have a Wise business account right now where we pay our employees and then we transfer the rest to our Business Monzo.

I want to get it right for our second model in argentina, she has a personal skrill and will transfer our share to us. The problem is i dont know where she should transfer to for least possible risk. I have set up a Business revolut and am thinking about a business HSBC and Payoneer. Do you think regular larger payments into these accounts from her personal skrill will be fine and they will not find out?

My worry is our money being frozen or us being banned from more banks as i want us to be a proper company. Therefore i need a safe way for future models to pay us. I just don't know which bank account is best to use/whether to split payments between accounts etc..?

Any help/insight would be appreciated I don't want to go through crypto as we are trying to set up as a proper business and just want a safe way of flowing funds so we can make some serious money from this..

It sounds like you're on the right track keeping things professional with business accounts. Diversifying accounts like Revolut, Payoneer, and HSBC is a smart move, just make sure the transactions don’t raise flags by being overly consistent in amounts or descriptions. Label payments as generic services to match your agency profile. Consulting with a financial advisor who understands your niche might also help ensure compliance and smooth operations long-term

Thankyou for the reply!

When you say don't raise flags by being overly consistent do you mean by too many? I was going to have the models pay into one of these accounts twice a month for our share and label them something like "marketing share" or "content services"..?

Do you have any advice on which account would be best and say we were making 10K from one model will that raise any flags?

We have an accountant but not in our niche if you have any recs for financial advisors in this that would be great if not i will get searching

Create Business Skrill, you can invoice Skrill users.
She will pay you via Skrill, you withdraw from Skrill to your bank account.

We have tried this but skrill have been completely unresponsive, we applied on the 6th of november and have been consistently emailing for updates but absolutely no response. Have tried calling their support and the phonelines are shut.. Tried applying again and it says merchant already exists but it doesn't haha. This is why we are trying to move to other business banks.

Do you have any idea of getting in contact with them?

Maybe try again contacting them. I remember when I opened business account one year ago but not completed verification, they were calling to me for next 3 months every few days xD

Can’t give you advice regarding which bank to use since your model is in Argentina, I personally used Paxum and never had any issues.

there are also a few errors I see that could cost you big time down the line.

You should have access to a digital banking business account under the models name which will be receiving the payouts directly from OF. You should also be in charge of sending payouts to your business banking account which should be opened with a reputable bank in your country. Same goes for your model. Your current setup is bound to bring issues

Thanks for your response. Yes i would have liked to use Paxum but unfortunately not an option anymore.

When you say issues what issues do you mean. Could you elaborate?

I know some people don't agree with having the model send us the money but we have an established relationship that we can trust im not sure if that's the issue you are talking about?

Otherwise I am not sure what issues we will have with her sending us money to our business bank..?

Diversifying accounts with multiple banks is not a smart move in my personal opinion.

And if that trust is seriously established you should be in control of that account for many reasons as you are the manager, this way you can be 100% certain you will receive pay and be able to pay out your team such as chatters, VAs, editors, etc. you should not be trusting an OF model to be in charge of that account

Thankyou I do see your point but I do know other agencies that invoice their models too and don't have any issues, but its something i'll discuss.

Why do you not think diversifying accounts is a smart move? I thought this may be less risky if we're making a larger profit a month and banks come asking more questions it may be best to diversify..?

You suggest having all models deposit into one business bank?

You can’t really look at what other agencies do. Look at what the top agencies in America that bring in millions monthly do for their models, they control everything they would never give this type of control and restricted access to the model. Just the truth

I don’t see the point in diversifying banks for each model. Open business accounts with the most reputable bank under the notion that it’s marketing or advertising services for each model in which they will receive payments from a digital bank account, this is how you prevent any issues as banks if they find out it’s OF money will screw you over. just telling you what worked for me for 2 years without any issues.

I guess this is why we wanted to be detached from it though so that we don't have the worry of a bank questioning where the money is from it would just be us invoicing the model for 'marketing services'.

I'll look into it more

You want to be detached from the main account that is receiving the payouts from OF because you think the bank will question it? How would they ever know you have access to it? The bank receiving money always has to be under the models name in order for the money to be received

It’s crucial to consult a financial advisor experienced in high-risk industries to ensure compliance and mitigate banking risks.

your models can't just do kyc and buy crypto and send that to you?

After that you can simply make some fake digital goods website and pay via cryptomus and make all your earnings look legitimate ? then you can easily convert them into cash.

Also, why go all this way for banking? and be scared. Use crypto atleast if anything goes wrong it will be because of your error not because some bank employee raised any suspicious flags on your payment..

I understand but im not well versed with crypto and we just want the business where we're able to pay ourselves a salary, take dividends at the end of the year and pay the tax that we have to pay and have it run smooth like that so we're able to invest in other things we want to..

why would the banks shut you down ? i mean as long as you are making money in a legitimate way and proving that it is earned income under your entity name there shouldnt be issues... unless making money on OF in UK is illegal
