Only Way To Penguin 2.0 Proof Your Sites

Well soon we will see the return of the penguin, and this time batman wont save you from its wrath unless you take immediate action and do the following:


1/ Backlink profile analysis and purge ( Identify toxic and low trust ratio links then severe all ties )

2/ Diversify, Diversify, Diversify, your link profile (Anchor text, platforms, link type)



Extreme Measures for more chronic cases:

1/ If you have been smart enough to be blasting backlinks direct to your money site: you're screwed unless you do 2/

2/ if you want to salvage your money site: clone it, buy new domain, notify all your customers/subscribers of your new domain through email marketing and onpage notification, buy one or two aged High PR domains and 301 to new site domain, start manually building a natural backlink profile to your new site. ( take this opportunity to improve your onpage seo also)

3/ Decommission you site when you get hit, then submit a request to have it deindexed.

I'm pretty sick of this software already,they are trying to push it like crazy on all boards.Yea,it's about Link Detox...

Unless your planning for your new site to get filtered for duplicate content, then it seems like a good move. Though one can argue that If the original site gets hit, then its content may not be viewed by the algo as the original or perhaps simply devalued, though i think google's cache timestamps may beg to differ.

not if you remove the content from the old site and wait for it to be deindexed or flush the old site with junk.
 
And you think de-index means it disappears from Google's servers ? It may just be hidden there, and not showing in SERPs.
 
I think everyone is panicking without reason. I have been watching whatever this is as it began rolling out. I even had a subdomain disappear. I wonder where that subdomain went to? The home page of my competitor, that is where. My primary domain is right where it has always been, position 1. Only the subdomain moved.

While Cutts is not to be believed entirely, he had written, or said that unless a site is using certain types of link schemes (implying Sape and others) a site has nothing to worry about.

Wait and see, do not panic. Panic is what the G wants. There is a lot of serp churning going on and that is about it.

I don't remember which movie star said it but it was said: I don't care what you say about me, just keep me in the public eye.

And along with the good advice (most of the OP's advice is sound) comes a heap load of superstition, guesses and often just crappy "hunches".
Penguin 2.0 is a refinement not a progression.
