Only building guest posts and niche edits?

If I only Build niche edits and high quality guest posts, is that my safest option for link building? Or will that possibly eventually get my website slapped since I don’t have any lower quality links in the beginning like forums, web 2.0s, blog comments, etc?

Also, has anyone ever done this and only built links with generic anchors, branded and naked urls? No keywords what so ever. Will these links, no matter how strong they are, not help you if you don’t include the keyword at least every once in a while?

Its not a bad idea. Guest posts are some strong links. I also wouldn't discount other strategies like forums and some comments. Though for white hat, I wouldn't go crazy.

Branded is fine, I would avoid naked where you can. They will help you without keywords. Just remember, link building is only one part of your SEO strategy, don't dump all your resources into building links and neglect everything else.

The key is that guest posts and niche edits are not link types per se. It's more of an acquisition method.

Technically, it's just a link coming from inner page of a website.

And you can have any # of those.

I am doing this too for my website, and I don't meet some problems or be slapped. It works good and I will continue to make it further.

Niche edits and guest posts are one option. They're popular right now and lots of people are using them. But they're not the only ones. There are many other white hat link building strategies you could use, depending on the niche and content you can create.

There's no real need for the lower quality links you mentioned, unless you need to diversify your anchor text.

If you don't get backlinks for targeting keywords, it will not work in ranking part. The backlinks from niche edits and guest posts are really good.

You can’t get index with only this you need to get posted on web2.0 pages and good pbn post in your niche.
There are many ways in ranking website but needs a lot of troubleshooting

It's a good idea. Keep in mind though that you need to build both authority and diversity of your link profile.

Niche edits, guest posting - for authority

Web 2.0, crowd marketing - for diversification

Same goes for anchor text - you should aim for a mix between your target keywords, naked URLs and generic anchors

Don't worry I am not. I am also dumping a lot of resources into content and keyword research as well. Was just curious if this was actually a viable strategy that might end up getting me hurt or keeping me as safe as possible in the long run.

Other than a select few, people here are giving bullshit advice of PBNs and web 2.0's and anchors (these links are fine, but not a necessity) You will do just fine with Guest Posts and Niche edits. Once your site starts ranking, you will automatically gain pther diversity links over time.

The thing is, SEO is so much more now than just backlinks. Make sure that you have a good keyword selection and good search intent based content. Go ahead and interlink your articles properly. Once you have that mechanism in place, the amount of backlinks required will go down significantly. Build a good amount of links to your home page (80%) and the rest (20%) to your articles (you can play around with the ratio if you'd like, it's just a rough estimate).

Structure your website in a way that your most important content is being linked to from your home page. I am currently using a strong non-dropped domain that has a ton of links going to the home page. I have built 0 links, however about 50% of my articles are on the first page of Google. I operate in one of the most competitive tech niches.

Just select good keywords, write good content, interlink properly, pay attention to on-page SEO and you're already ahead of the competition. Then over time keep adding the Guest Posts and Niche edits. Sit there and watch your site rank, laugh all the way to the bank while the rest of the idiots are humping away building a ton of links.

Niche edits and guest post is a solid strategy I would suggest profile links too for diversity, and just take care of you anchors because if you sort them then I see no reason for you to worry about google penalty

Both are best but you have to build in Quality links from Guestpost and Niche Links that's Good.

On new sites just GP.
On older sites both.

I look at power mostly. Guest post itself is always relevant, I don't care about relevancy of the website that much.

Powerful site you mean which metric you prefer? I mean DR or DA or even the referring domain quality or all i have mentioned?
