Just did a little search and it seems it dpeends on the nuber one spot showing alot of links.

i was wondering why samurai was showing number ten but i was clearly mid way down second page.

anyone else noticed this and how have they dealt with it. antoehr blow in the guts meaning you have even more crawling to do to make front page.

Can you be any more ambiguous with your questions? I am totally confused as to what you are asking...please elaborate

urgh.. do you mind to elaborate more? it annoys me when i have to think what you are talking about. :(

It came out last summer I think. Affected mainly brand related searches where the #1 spot have several sitelinks.

Allow me to try and translate ..

What OP seems to be after is our comments on Google's recent change (well, not that recent actually) where for some sites they only display 7 results on the first page instead of the typical 10, and how it affects SEO / rankings.

In my personal opinion, not much changes here except for the fact that the top 7 results now get a bit larger % of clicks that results 8-10. But with that said, your goal should anyway be getting to the first half of the front page for your target terms (unless you're working on a very competitive field), meaning that not a lot changes. Besides, the CTR for 10th place is already quite tiny (compared to spots 1-3) even if it's on the first page, making the difference even less noticeable. Just my opinion, though - your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the translation and now I see what OP is talking about. I have noticed that this occurs only sometimes for search results not everytime they are presented. So yes you will lose traffic as a result but only a portion of it. I could be wrong about this tho

I have noticed that this occurs only sometimes for search results not everytime they are presented.

According to this article, it occurs for around 18% of searches. But nonetheless, in my book this is very much a pseudo-problem and webmasters should worry about increasing the quality of their backlink portfolio and content in general, rather than worrying about Google's (ever-increasing) changes in design and algorithm.

We hate that you are annoyed, how about moving on if you can't figure it out instead of crying about it.
