Hello everyone

I use to work in a travel agency but have left my job for couple months now and I'm trying to open an online travel agency does anyone know how do I start. We used Sabre Travel system for our booking but how does it work If i make it as a website?? and where can I find a host for my website

I am really not trying to be facetious but if you have worked in a travel agency and don't know where to start, perhaps it is not the right niche for you?

An online travel agency is a very ambitious first step into the online world. It may be worth getting yourself some general experience first and then stepping up to something bigger at a later stage.

Hello

Thanks for replying
Well I do know the industry and everything and I've booked a lot of flights and trips
but This is the only part I still didn't get involvedvin which is the online agency

You may try to get in touch with the webmasters of well-known agencies. I am sure they can point you the right direction. Just do a quick search and find some established and well-known companies. Check out their site then spot the link for the webmaster/developer/designer etc. or at least get his name and search him or his company. Try it, it is easier than it sounds. Also, considering you have no idea about this part of the business, you will eventually need one of those guys to help you.

If you're looking to start in the niche, focus on your niche and not trying to become a web developer. The problem with people today is, they are too cheap. Everyone wants to figure out how to do things for themselves, but in reality the time you'd have to invest to achieve a skill set necessary to complete the work would be much more expensive than hiring a professional.

Hire professional help is probably the best way. If you have problems setting up a website, you can get someone to do it for you. Your website is like business. You need to market and invest in it if you want it to click. Best of luck!

For starters,

Use namecheap or godaddy to buy domains and hostgator to host your sites.

Then use wordpress and an appropriate theme for your travel agency.

why not just build a affiliate white label site, everything is automated, just need to bring traffic in.

i have one, i can show you

Rough niche for sure.. I've used a white label booking engine before. I believe it was expedia's. It was very easy to set up. They even have account managers you can talk to. A lot of people are starting to us RSI's stuff. I know the owner of RSI, I just did a bunch of work for him. Anyhow, a lot of avenues and things to consider in the travel niche. Hit me up via PM and I'll get you my skype id. I have something you may be very interested in if you are looking to get into the travel industry.

I have a website called hotcaribbeanholidays and some of my friends have been nagging me to change it to a travel agency site, but I'm not sure if I should, anybody got some good advice?

btw, travel spends !#%@$^@ amount of cash on paid search.

I suggest looking how other compettiors are doing it from there you get the idea.
