Online tool vs Blogging ?

Hello,

I launch an online tool that solve a problem, and I started blogging to have more traffic, so I created some articles and put affiliate link and some ads.

My question is, as a newbie, is it better to start a blog niche (like food recipes, games...) or online tools niche (like calculator, converter...) with blog?
And my seconde question is, how can I get more traffic for an online tool?

Stick to the online tools niche it's more aligned with your product. For traffic, focus on SEO, backlinks, and partnerships. Offering free trials or demos can also boost interest. Keep it targeted and relevant.

f your tool solves a real problem, stick with online tools + blog combo — it’s easier to rank since users search for specific functions (like “X calculator”). Write SEO articles around your tool’s keywords and link back to it. For traffic, focus on SEO + Reddit + Quora + niche forums + backlinks. I thought we have improved on how we copy and past AI content in solving practical issues.
 
Both are valid approaches, it will depend on your experience, patience and budget to promote your blog or website tool. Most tools are already available and well established, you'd need to have a new solid idea.

If your tool actually helps people, stick with it. Just keep adding blogs to bring in traffic from Google. To get more visitors, share it on forums, Reddit, and social media where your target users hang out.
 
Online tools bring quick traffic through utility, but combining them with blogs builds stronger authority and steady growth.
 
You cant get more volume for your tool or calculator.
So search for the keyword first and figure out if there is enough organic traffic.
Go to a keyword tool like senrush or ahrefs and search
Calculator
Now find the calculator that you can build and rank top 3 position. Position 1 gets most of the traffic to target position 1. Your calculator/ tool must be better than what's already ranking.

I suggest an online tool since you've already made one. You can drive traffic from social media like Pinterest, X etc
