Hello,

As you can see I'm totally new here but I've read the forums for more than 6 months now.
I wanted to ask you for some ideas, what can I do to earn some money using an online shop?
My parents are leading it for 5 years now on Polish ebay-like site allegro. From what I've learned for now from BHW is that you have to be unique and while not everyone has an small company selling stuff online I thought of maybe getting some more $$ out of it and help my parents develop it. It's functioning enough to feed an family for 5 years now with 99.4 positive reviews. I was thinking of trying to expand the business for other countries, but that won't work as delivery will be too expensive.
I know I have to think out of the box if I want to make something out of it, but just nothing comes to my mind.

You have to optimize the existing first.

After becoming a local hero, you already have a lot of money from it.

Delivery will be too expensive for who? US prices are different than Poland prices.IF your products are unique (let's say hand made painted ceramic pots) and not a copy of a copy of a Morocco tagine, you might have the opportunity to price them 5x your curent prices.IF products are ok and marketing is done right, price and shipping are a triviality.

It's all dependent upon what product you are selling, if its something unique and could be interesting for people in other countries then price of shipping doesn't really matter because you could scale the price that you sell for in poland buy up to 2-5x because of the currency values and just include the price of shipping in that, you could start off by setting up yourself an eccomerce website (Shopify, abantecart, woocommerce, prestashop) and/or start selling on Amazon and Ebay.

Couldn't really say with out all the details, depending on the size of what your selling, delivery prices might not be that bad do some research on posting costs.

Or maybe do some more promotion in your country.

Take your top 5 selling products and put these into your promotion

You can sell the same stuff as your allegro account. Make sure you do a good screenshot and show your reviews. You can link back to your allegro store too.
Make sure you structure your site in a silo structure and do lots of seo optimization on it.
