Online Reputation Management Guide?

Does anyone have a decent guide on online rep management by any chance? After reading the 'offline ambulance' method I quite fancy giving it a go but there's not a lot of info on the actual rep management side of things.

I've got a basic idea of how it works (outranking bad reviews) but I'm not sure how to bump bad reviews off the top spot in Google places.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I've tried searching but haven't come up with anything.
