how much one can earn from a website? a website with really good traffic.
is it worth quitting a good job?
be honest and constructive.

good question, I think you could earn several million dollars a month if you make a webpage like facebook

I heard that facebook and google websites makes around $10/day for their owner. If you can live on $300/month, yes, QUIT your job now.
Seriously: I dont think that people making money with websites. For example can a website make bread? Or can it feed a cat? No, nothing.So how it could make money???

There are guys that earn quite a lot online these days (i'm talking about 4 figure income a day). As for myself - I broke the 4 figure income a month with one website before the Panda 3.3 but I'm still a beginner and don't have the time to work IM full time (9-5 job )

Anyway, don't think that You can make a site, start making money and enjoy. It needs work - a LOT of work to start making descent money.

I wouldnt quit your job before you have steady income. I hope thats not how you meant it. But yes you can make plenty of money with a website. I make over $100 daily with only one website, but I also still run several offline businesses aswell. I would do both until you could afford to live off the website income, but also keep in mind. Website income is never guaranteed, sometimes you have to make changes to keep up.

Never quit your main job until you're stabilised with a steady income through IM.

I've seen many people quit their job, and then fail at IM and then get a worse job than before.

1. Quit job
2. Make a Website
3. ???
4. Profit

No, you must work really hard and persist. Start learning some method, try a few things, sitck with one method and one day you can achieve...hmm...everything

1. unused domain + space (regional music/entertainment niche)
2. facebook groups/page members : 50000+ (interactive)
3. youtube (monetized) : real traffics (so far accumulated 8$ within one month without any effort)
** which is good option? putting videos on youtube or own website?
4. scope for local media coverage (tv/radio/newspapers,etc)
5. good links with other forums/websites/record labels of the region.
6. good internet speed with dynamic ip's
7. determination and focus to succeed.

hope i will be able to set up the site and earn more than my current job so that i can quit the job. enough of boring 8hrs job.

3) Learn from what you did right and wrong

People are here to learn themselves and to post information for others, but not to spoonfeed you or others.

For you to be able to make it in IM... YOU have to take the initiative to learn. If you can't manage to do even that, then you should close your browser now and forget you ever heard of BlackHatWorld or IM.

well cant reply to your pm. as of now m focusing more on my own site. and as i am earning with my current job so I'm not looking for some quick earnings. more focused on long term prospects.

A website can pull anywhere from 1 cent to 100 million a day. Take Facebook for example, then take that failed Blogger blog that gets about 5 unique hits a week. You must have the talent to make that site that special site that pulls in the large income.

Heres my answer to you.

1) How much are you making an hour? $7-8 hour at most? (haha, inflation is a b*tch)
2) What replaces that makes you that an hour?
3) Are you learning the skills and building a reputation for yourself to get there?
4) Sustain a cashflow before any website, you`ll have more confidence in making money online
5) Think realistically before making big judgement calls like "quitting a job".

FOLLOW WITH YOUR EFFORT

Tip: Having a job is a catch 22 because you sacrifice time. (Which you can`t focus on your website, so its preferred to get some type of freelance work)

Is it worth it?
1) Is it worth it to build something with the potential of getting $6,000 a month?

Worst case scenario:
2) Selling your $6,000 a month site to a reputable company who will buy you up at $12 million

Money? We dont do this for money. We do it for the thrill of the chase, the hunt. That little kernel of sheer rapture when you find an exact match 30,000 a month low comp keyword. We are junkies...we mainline TCP/IP daily. If the electricity goes off we go through withdrawal.

We do it because, someday, we are going to be able to quit our day jobs and make a living punching little keys for 3 hours a day. WE LIVE for the daily adsense report, and have near orgasms at double click days and double earnings days.

We just S M I L E when we hand that cashier that Google check, because they know that we are an online GOD, or Google wouldn't pay us that money. They slave a way handing out others money, and we float in there and cash a check they know we did nothing to earn but put up a web site.

We do it because we are obsessed, not with wealth, but the pursuit of wealth. Many do it simply because it makes us feel spectacular when you do something that really hits, because we did it ob our own. No one helped us, sure we get pointers, but if you succeed with a website, more than likely this site has more of your sweat in it than anything.

We do it because it created a little stream of little checks, clickbank, cpa, adsense, whatever, you just go out to the mailbox and POW, you hit a payout threshold and someone sent you a check.

We do it because when we want to say something and we don't want to hear any crap from people. I can say what the hell I want on my site, and dump every comment that disagrees with me, or tell the people who disagree with me to go away.

We do it because we are web heads and geeks, and it is as natural as breathing.

We do it for the same reasons artists paint....we can't not do it.

And in the end, we make money from it. Maybe not life changing, job quitting money, but extra money nonetheless.
