Online forums?

But the question is how hard he holded. Just imagine if you in eat 75000 and it doubles in say 1 year. Very few people will have heart not to book profits at that time. Now imagine holding till current price levels. That is possible only from people who have deep trust on crypto.
That is a fact as well.

How did people find out about bitcoin in 2009 and the first half of 2010? If they found out by way of online forums, but what pointed them in the direction of forums? What precursors pointed in that direction if not word of mouth advertising or the bitcoin mailing lists? Can someone please give me their opinion?
Hi,
Back in 2009 and early 2010, people mostly discovered bitcoin through niche tech and cryptography forums like bitcointalk and cypherpunk mailing lists. many early adopters were already part of these communities exploring digital privacy and cryptography, so the word spread naturally within that circle. there wasn’t mainstream advertising; it was mostly curiosity-driven discussions that led newcomers to those forums.

I know many who cashed out what they initially invested, like they should have.. and kept most of it, cashing out every few years.. good strategy in a situation like this, holding the entirety of any asset 'hoping' endlessly is a death sentence waiting to happen.

“If I put $100 in Bitcoin in 2010 I’d have $2.8B now.

”No. If you bought $100 of Bitcoin in 2010 and watched it go to: $1k → $100k → $1.7M and did nothing.

Then watched $1.7M go to $170k and still did nothing

Then watched $170k go to $110M and still did nothing

Then watched $110M wither to $18M and still did nothing

Then watched $18M surge to $390M and still did nothing

Then watched $390M deteriorate to $85M

Then watched $85M climb to $1.6B and still did nothing

Then watched $1.6B shrink to $390Mand still did nothing

Then watched $390M surge to $2.8B and then for some reason finally decided to do something…Then yes, $100 in 2010 would be worth $2.8B today.

Whats your point?

I found out on the forum. It was prophesied to have a great future, only few people believed in it and nobody bought it. Especially since it was impossible to pay with it.

But when could people actually first start to buy btc? No p2p, otc, mining, ect...

It was through BitcoinMarket, that was the only exchange to buy BTC then
But that doesnt make any sense? Bitcoinmarket only allowed buying like when a buyer had to negotiate with a seller for the amount of btc so technically it doesnt count... i mean like today where one can buy at an established rate! Youre taking things out of context...! Why do u say this then?
