Hello fellow BH'ers. First off let me say thank you to all of BHW for helping me get to where I am today. I have been working primarily on CPA and adsense, but recently I came across a keyword that happens to be one part of my life/passion/hobby, whatever you want to call it. I love this subject so its easy for me to work on it.

Basically, My main keyword has 950k search results and 40k global monthly searches, And my keyword tails all have 200K or less search resluts with about 20k monthly searches. From what i've learned on these forums this is a decent keyword right?. So I started a blogger on blogspot and my KW is my sub domain (which is good for SEO?), and Now for my main KW im ranked in google at spot 500 and out of 950k! and one of my other keywords im at spot 160 out of 150k search results. I was pretty psyched when I woke up this morning and saw my search results becuase this is my first SEO site and I made it a week ago with blogger. lol. I did do a backlinking service to this site (thanks to wyzo) And I put a twist to my blog so i get about 40 backlinks everytime I post.

Now that you kno what im doing, I was wondering what do you "seo experts" suggest for ranking onto the first page. I understand you can backlink from forums, blogs, article directories but what is the most effective way to raise your google search rank? I have a store setup with this website so I'm hoping to get on the first page and make bank lol. I hope I'm on the right path and if this works out im going to invest in hosting+domains and do another niche to grow farther.

And to whoever may help me, I am a firm believer in karma and the term "pay it forward" so who knows, if i hit the jackpot i'll definatly be paying it forward to the people who helped me and who provided me with good services.

Thank you BH'ers and happy IM'ing.

You're definatly off to a good start, well done!

At this point I would check your comeptition, there is an SEO add-on for firefox which analyses google results for things like PR,backlinks etc. Failing that you could download the trial of market samurai, its important for you to see what your up against and what you should be working towards.

Having said that then its time to start seriously link building an adding quaility content to your blog, there are many many ways to get links, some include:

-submit articles to places like ezine, goarticles
    -blog commenting
    -web directory submission
-high pr profile links (angelas etc)
    -link wheels

Keep up the good work and best of luck to you.

I cant say that I'm a seo expert but to me it seems that you are definitely on the right track. You have found yourself a decent keyword and getting a blogspot with it is also great ( google loves blogspot ).It would have been better if you managed to get a tld with the keyword but blogspot should also do the trick.

My advice is don't limit yourself to only one type of links try to get as much links as possible from different sources this way it will look a bit more natural in the eyes of Google instead of just getting links from article directories for example. Also check your competition in yahoo site explorer check the sites that are linking to them and see if you can also get the same links to your site that has always helped me.It would be even better if you can get on of the top 10 sites to link to you.

Here are a few more ways to get some decent links
    1. Submit your site rss feed to rss directories
    2. Create widgets for your site and insert your link in the code
    3. Go to digitalpoint and buy a few wordpress theme sponsorships
    4. Go to microworkers or mturk and pay people to write a review about your site on their blog.
    5. Do a xrummer blast ( don't do it directly to your site since its new but you can do it to one of your web 2.0 properties )
    6. Create a video about your site submit it to tube sites and ad your link in the description
    7. Find a list of classifieds sites and place an ad regarding your business along with a link to your site.
    8. Write a press release and sumbit it to PR distribution sites
    9. Register a blog with Entrecard.com and sponsor a contest
    10. Use the credits you earned from Entrecard.com to purchase links and reviews from other bloggers in their marketplace
    11. Find website that deals with free counters and ask them to place your link in their counters in exchange for sponsorship

hm these are great ideas guys Ill be sure to implement a few of these. one problem though is im growing from the buttom up so I have little money to invest. I currently make 50 dollars a week from another income so that's been fueling my IM'ing for awhile. thanks guys and if your feeling generous keep the suggestions coming! I love BHW any IM'er that doesn't come here isn't a real IM'er haha.
