Hei guys,

I have been thinking about something. Imagine you are selling a product, having a plugin that adds a cart to your website can help google see you as a store? I thought about that because on ahrefs they tag certain websites as stores and what they have in common is the use of some plugin like shopify, this could be useful on helping google now your websites intent, some people don't use carts and directly sell stuff through paypal buttons.

Bonus question: Back in the day we all used to think that country-tlds carried weight in terms of helping you rank for certain regions, but i had some success years ago using a pbn from my country to rank for english keywords, what are you guys thoughts on this?

it all depends on the timing and the way it get clicked by the flow of the backlinks and certain rankings

If your website has nothing but currency symbols and numbers, short paragraphs of texts (product summaries, reviews, etc), and has any kind of ecommerce plugin/portal to a selling page, it's probably a shop website.

And if it's probably a shop website, it'll be picked up as one.
If not, then you have something to fix, but this should've been tried before you asked so the systems which work can (most likely) tag your store site as such.

Hi there i would like to talk with you about .edu canvas links can you send me some contact info?
thanks.

Study algorithms, and you'll see why google has thousands of engineers working on search, it's to identify nuances, and technical details that websites have, that they need to filter out and help their AI now recognize. I'm sure they must be WELL past identifying if a website is a store, they must have a high probability of matching by now really.
