One Page Wordpress Theme and SEO

Lately, i have some questions regarding Single Page Wordpress theme and SEO practices. I would like to see what you people have to answer for the questions i have.

Normally a single page wp theme has all the content within the homepage where the chunks of contents broken with in the single page is coming from different posts and pages from the admin. So my questions are

1) Normally we can also access those pages ( main page of the contents coming from pages or posts in the homepage ) with the url like www.domain.com/postname or www.domain.com/pagename ..

What do we do with this page ? Because from the main navigation we won't be able to access the page but if we check with the sitemap or manually enter the URL we will still be able to open these pages/posts.

2) No follow/no index all of these pages/posts and 301 to homepage ?

Well it all depends on your website's topic, I think. If you'd like to just target one or two keywords, you might be fine with a single page, so 301ing them to the home page and setting them to no follow/no index might help. After having set them to no index for a while, remember to block these URLs also for crawling in the robots.txt file and remove them from the XML sitemap, so once they're deindexed you make sure they won't be crawled by the bot. You could also speed up the de-indexing through setting them on 410 for a few days, but I'd be careful with that.
However, I would only suggest you doing that when you're absolutely sure that the information given on those sites is contained within the one page template (unless the information is nothing you'd like to rank for, in which case you could just 410 and forget about them).

IF however you would like to rank for quite a few different keywords and these pages contain valuable content and backlinks, why would you go single page then?

May I know exactly why do you go with a one page theme when all of Google and everyone else screams against thin content? Just curious.

unless your doing any PPC why are you trying to build 1 page sites?

Good Question. Because i do not have much contents in all the pages. So i have divided the homepage into sections from all the pages. So that they look more organized in a single page. Also i am not going to update those contents since it is not a blog site.

Because i do not have lot of contents in my site and i want to stay sharp to the point about what the website has to offer. That's it

Thanks for your input. I have done all the things already that you have mentioned. One page because i do not have large content and i have 4-5 keywords to rank with low search volume and competition.

If you have a single page website, then set your internal page on wordpress as featured on homepage and the internal page would be auto redirected.
