one (important) stats that confuse me in KeywordPlanner

hi,

i have a question about "Avg. monthly searches".
lets assume that i choose a period of one year.
This stat, is a average daily searches+-?

or total monthly searches?

lets say (without taking other factors in this calculation) every day 1000 people search for keyword "Shampoo" for one year.
"Avg. monthly searches" will show 1000? or will show 30,000 (30 days a month, total 30,000 searches a month average in a year+-)

or maybe its something else?

(until now I build sites for "trends" outside us so i know what is "HOT" or not without using keywordplanner. now i'm trying to find specific niche keyword to build a new baby )

The average monthly searches would be 30,000, because that's how many people are searching for that keyword each month on average.
