I doubt a kid that young in Palestina will be speaking English to that degree.

For all we know she could have been talking in arabic saying "Did you watch last night's ex factor?".

I remember there was a single pic of one person which generated more than a million views: Snookie without makeup. But I do have to agree that this picture is definitely worth more than 1 million words as well.

I don't wanna be rude but , '' poverty '' ( well social poverty ) like it's spoken on media in last 30-40 years is somehow fake . In general speaking humanity break the barrier of poverty back on '50s . Only reason for what some regions aren't much developed like others is because of their inhabitants ! I`m not sympathetic with any kind of social propaganda ( or religious one ) , no matter what !

We like humans didn't evolve in so many ways in last 50 years or so , we or some of us focused on another areas of development and leave behind some simple facts ( sometime I`m thinking we like society trying to forget the roots of the society / living together ) .
Anyway , the picture is really nice , really worth the million of words still I`m afraid nothing will change there for very very long time , we have still loads of work to get more evolution for our lives , most probably in this stage like I see it now , there will be no evolution in next 100-150 years . Technology era brings us huge advantage but we ( humans ) I don't think was ready to evolve .

glad you read it lol ... actually my post have nothing to do with the author of '' the end of history '' ( short of ) ... I didn't wanted to quote / rephrase he's words ... thing is I didn't even knew about this until few minutes back when I shoot the query on wikipedia lol
Anyway ... pictures like this posted by OP brings something on attention ....
If you took history lessons on college / uni anything ... or just read lol ... will see how humanity evolve ( or how is described / documented to evolve ) over the centuries , modern history , and our current lives brings us an huge advantage technologically in order to '' get all the information needed '' .
Take for example Indonesia ( the pic is from here so far I understand ) lol ... less than 2million square km's region , with more than 200million inhabitants ? If I rekon ... anyway that's not important ( the numbers I think are bit close to reality ) ... Are you telling me anyone can tell me aprox 200 peoples per square km can live a happy lifestile ? well yeah is true , my parents apartment had only around meters square and they raised 4 boys happy .... it's true BUT with what costs lol .
The earth is big ( well really big compared with us - humans ) , nature ( natural resources ) CAN sustain our lives here for very very long period ; 300 years ago if someone wanted to listen a new song had to travel days / weeks / months maybe to listen the composer or the musician , now all what you have to need it's to press few icons on your iphone / smartphone , or maybe couple of clicks on your computer ... 150 years ago if someone wanted to watch the sea at the sunset , maybe can take him same several days of travelling , or even weeks ... now ? I can be on any beach from world in less than 24 hours I think lol .

Things are simple , we humans took our chance and we pursued to bring more technology than ever was here on earth it's seems . BUT we didn't know what to do with the advantages ! Why ? because of the poor human souls who can take decisions , and because of the poor souls who aren't able to think by them-self ( and following like blinds the ones who have the guts to take decisions ) . World is falling apart , and that's not an ''2012'' statement ! lol , WE didn't evolve since way too long , our political / moral / religious systems are from ancients ages ! but we are trying to live on current modern structure , this is not possible ( illogic ) .
See ... everything is connected somehow with something , natural resources and current population it's somehow in some kind of balance still for some time but this balance it's very very unstable . Humans will never see '' end of the history '' because we always evolve , always find ways to get out of the troubles since way too long ago!

no wonder for indonesian government... the govern just think about how to collect more money for their pockets, not for that kind of children... hopefully someday, there will be a revolution in that country to remove corupt govern

People are looking at this picture like it's something new. They live in a place where some families need their children to help support the family. It's either have them work or not feed them. sad but true. And no the government isn't going to do anything because people have gotten so used to it and there isn't anyone complaining.

First of all children's DO NOT HAVE TO WORK for their food , it's parents obligation ( legal and moral ) to feed their kids !
It's fault of society / culture ( or missing of such concepts in this case ) . It's not fault of the kids they born in this place ( or any other under developed region ) , it's fault of their parents / grandparents / families / society / government and church . Those have to blamed for everything what happens ( or don't happens ) to be on their life ! Peoples usually get what they deserve ( in general terms ) I grow in a region and a period of time let's say '' less fortunate '' , all bad things happens because of the society / my parents and family to me and that's an close rule to be in this case to . I don't say the picture from OP isn't somehow with some feelings ... but at the end of the day it's exactly what peoples want and nothing more . We ( me and you and others ) can't judge and decide what they wanna do with their life's ! It's their own right to do whatever they wanna . When they will be able to understand mistakes what they done when they give birth to a kid on this condition ... ( well if they understand anyway lol - witch isn't happens most of the time ) . Tragic but true .
