One Generic Domain

Hey folks.

I really want to get started on a few projects involving my CPA network membership, but I have a problem.

See, I really only had enough money for one domain, and it was for a whitehat project I had in mind. The name is incredibly generic.

What I was wondering was whether or not it was possible to use one very generic domain to rank for keywords that it's unrelated to. I can't give away the whole domain name, but it's based around the idea of "alternatives".

of course its possible, I have several generic domains (.com and .net) ranked in highly competitive niches. It took awhile tho. Basic onsite seo. 5 page site never updated each with less than 100 words. Using backlinking and Article marketing, usually takes 3 months to show up on 2nd page of Google. 4 to 6 Months to show up top 5 on 1st page.
 
Yes, definitely possible. Domain names are not the whole battle when it comes to ranking for terms. Search in google for "Search Engine". How many of the results actually have the words "Search" or "Engine" in their domain name?
 
Well, let me ask it like this. How much does the domain name weigh in on site ranking? Trivial, so-so, or heavily?
 
So-So. And also, not all search engine algorithms are the same. I can rank an exact match domain name #1 in Bing or Yahoo in 1 day, but Google doesn't consider it as important. If you are looking for a LONG TERM website, just do whatever it takes to get another $7.00 to buy a better domain name. If you just want quick cash with CPA, any domain name will do.
 
Well, I suppose I can always repurpose it for my white hat project later.

(Sometimes I wish I could automatically reward those who help me with knowledge on how to modify various video game consoles...eh, oh well.)

Bah, now I just have to find out how to get the money for a real host, rather than 0fees or 000webhost. Both of those never actually work.

It took me 4 months of trying before I made my first few dollars. I had a domain called friendley(.)info, which I let expire after the first year. I put up 10 different template designs, wordpress sites, etc. Eventually I put up google webmaster tools and saw all the odd phrases I was ranking for, and that gave me the hope I needed to continue. Now I have made thousands from internet marketing. Keep at it.

Would there be any way to make some CPA cash without a domain, though? Just about anything would work. Almost every method I see needs me to at least have a domain, even if it doesn't involve ranking at the top.

Just enough to pay for my hosting fees for a year.
 
You can just get a few blogger domains and throw some CPA banners or links in some generic posts there. Blogger domains are good for ranking random phrases. Just make like 5-10 blogger sites, all based on a different topic, and try to find related CPA banners. Make some original posts if you like writing, or just visit a local news site for that topic and copy everything, then just change the words up a little bit.
 
yeah you can just use sub domains and make sure not to link to them from main domain

Ya just steal some related articles from somewhere else and do a little backlinking to get the site indexed as soon as possible. I would say at least 4-5 articles.

No problem man, thats what this site is about.

You need to click on Design tab, then look for Add a Gadget, then click HTML/JavaScript.

Now copy/paste the CPA banner html from the CPA website into there and save it. Then view your website to see if you like where it is placed. You can click and drag it around the Design tab page to change the location.
 
Hmm. Unfortunately, I don't see the "Add a Gadget" button...
 
Well, I posted a few hundred backlinks thanks to TLT, copied and pasted about 5 articles related to the niche, and posted all of the individual articles on Digg. (I can't seem to get any followers on Digg, however...). This might just be the fact of the matter, but it hasn't been indexed at all yet, which I think is a little strange considering it's a Blogspot.

Maybe it needs some unique articles? Perhaps I can accomplish this with a combination of Instant Article Wizard and Google Wonder Wheel scraper.
