Is it possible to use 1 analytic code for multiple sites ?

I have 20 sites, I put same code in all sites, and in the website name (when creating the profile), I type 20sites.com , the website 20sites.com doesn't exist, I just use it as a name, the problem is, it keeps saying that analytics code havn't been installed. So, I change the website name to one of my site and then after 1 minute, it shows I have analytics installed. The question I want to ask is, will analytics tracks all my sites or just 1 site that I have mention in the website name.

Thanks

I'm not exactly sure that I understood everything that you have said here but no you cannot use the same code for multiple sites. You can use the same account for multiple sites but you will need to add each site individually into the account. I would personally recommend creating a separate account for each of your sites as using one account will easily allow your competitors to find them all. ;)

It depends on what Web Analytics vendor you are using. Some of the more expensive Analytics options would not have a problem using the same code for multiple sites. I'm not sure about Google Analytics though.

if it is GA, it will be generated inside your GA account,
then simply add the addendum for each site.
i.e.
XXX-XXXXXXX -1 for site 1
XXX-XXXXXXX -2 for site 2
XXX-XXXXXXX -3 for site 3

make sure correct number appears for each site...
check and test after 24 hours... done... simples

If you are talking about GA, you can use the same code on different URLs. Then you need to create filters to make sense of the resulting report. Search for "roll up" goo gle analytics online. Can't post links.
