I think these techniques are simple enough for anyone to try to use. He gives some great how to tips in there.

Here is the summary of what I got

1. Short URL rank better

2. Target keyword in URL

3. LSI - closely related terms - search for the term on goog Go to the bottom on the page

4. Publish Long Content - average 1890 words

5. Target Keyword on Title Tag

6. Title Tag - include number in Title

7. add [ ] or ( )

8. Use External Links - 2-5 outbound links per page

9. Internal Link - 2-5 link to within your website. Only to page that needs a boost

10. Site Speed - Faster site. Invest in a premium host. Liquid Web, Web synthesis

11. use a CDN

12. include multimedia - video, charts
