You can find features that help you add meta tags for keywords and descriptions in any HTML editor. Below are the instructions on how you can implement it with one of the most popular HTML editors - Dreamweaver.

Adding meta description to your pages:

  • Open your page in Dreamweaver.

  • Choose Insert→Head→Description.
(Alternatively, you can use the Head option from the Common Insert panel.)

  • When the Description dialog box appears, enter the text you want for your page description.

Don't add any HTML to the text in this box! Make sure it has no more than 160 characters because that is all that will be included in the search results page.

  • Hit the OK button.

The description text you entered is inserted between the <head> tags area at the top of the page in the HTML code.

To add meta keywords, please repeat steps 1-4, choosing Insert Head →Keywords at step 2. And type a list of keywords, separated by commas, in place of a description at step 3.

Hope you find this info useful.

If you're starting out new, I would recommend a website based on Wordpress, since that's already pretty much optimized for SEO.

Log into your cpanel and edit the page you want to work on.

You will find, the

title
mega tags
description tag
keyword tag

Simply add your title/keywords to it.

It's usually opened and closed like this <title> <title/>.

For WP you have to log into your admin, click on the page you want to edit and go to html on the top right hand corner of the opened edit page.

There are lots of videos on YouTube to help you out..

first of all why you prefer html site. change it to wordpress before its too late.
