When I first started, I downloaded a cracked version of some software that told you if your site was optimized, and what to change.

Software worked for like a grand total of 20 minutes, crashed and killed the computer along with it.

This was like 6 months ago, im not sure if anyone would know what I am talking about, but it gave like a percentage of how optimized your site was,

and ways to change it.

Anyway, I know my onsite optimization sucks, I think this is really what is holding me back from getting better rankings.

Is there a software that will tell you want to change? or a service some one offers that could optimize a site?

Traffic Travis free version can analyze your page and give you a letter rating A+ thru F. Then it also tells you what to change to improve your rating.

Website Auditor is really great. Gives you a full report of your site, with loads of numbers and suggestions. It also analyzes your competitors.

I'd also have to give a +1 to website auditor, I had a few reports done and they are actually pretty helpful. While some of it is way overboard it can help you gauge a general "overview" of on-site easily and its also something great that you can pass along to clients and/or potential clients.
