Hey, dudes and dudesses :)

I know this forum is a second home for SEO pros from all over the world, I thought maybe you can help me figure this out.

Currently, I'm optimizing a web-site for my Russian client. And I was wondering what language should I use for pics titles or URLs and stuff like that? There are two options:
  1. Translate to English;
  2. Transliterate the text;

The goal is to rank in Google and Yandex, but since they have different systems and algorithms, sometimes it's tricky to follow general SEO rules.

I have no doubts that Yandex or Google is able to understand that, BUT will it count as my main keyword in Russian or totally different one in English? How should I put this...

I have a service page targeting the keyword "открыть оффшорную компанию на Кипре" which means "open an offshore company in Cyprus". In the translation case, will search engines see that this page is targeting two different keywords or it give credit to my Russian keyword?

Or should I just transliterate text like this "otkryt' offshornuyu kompaniyu na Kipre" just to be safe?

Please share your thoughts :)

If you want to target Russian keyphrase, you can use English URL, but make sure that you've set your hreflang attribute correctly.
