Hey everyone

I've spent a lot of time doing on-page SEO, and I'm venturing into hosting my own blog, running some simple affiliate links and display ads to generate a bit of revenue.

One area I'm struggling with is CWVs. It seems that no matter what theme I use or how much I optimise my plugins, my LCP is always around 2.5s, my INP is always longer than 200ms and my CLS is more than 0.1. I'm being told to minify JS and remove unnecessary CSS, and I've got no idea where to start.

All of these issues are with mobile, so I'm confident they're replicated on desktop, and I feel that they're impacting my rankings.

I understand what CWVs are and what these issues are, but I have no experience with SEO like this. I've tried loads of plugins that promise to do it all, and they don't change anything.

As an SEO, how did you learn to improve CWVs? Do you have your go-to themes, best practises etc?

What people tends to overlook is the web hosting server as they are NOT all the same. Maybe a better server will boost CWV instead of what’s on the page.
