Nulled plugins are a bad idea , and yes , you're probably screwed mate .

The very fact that it is allowed to post it here is encouraging. I am sure everyone is aware that there are rules here for not posting many things here which are not even dangerous as this issue is.
Anway, hope someday this would get added in the rules.

And virus total is meant for viruses and malicious stuffs
Even if it could detect virus in a zip file, the modified code in the plugin might not appear as a virus

Stealing a GPL licensed plugin? How about stealing and sharing and downloading ebooks, that mostly are copyrighted? That is stealing according to most laws around the world for real.

Well I would advise you to hire a lawyer the developer of the plugin will sue your ass, next make a prayer to @Festinger before he files a case for using other sourc plugin. Also if your site is yet safe install wordfence or malcare, remove the plugin, clean databases

I have installed a nulled plugin on my website. Later I read that this is not safe for my website. So if I uninstall the plugin am I safe again? Or am I screwed immortally

Still, sharing or downloading a GPL licensed WordPress plugin, is not stealing. Maybe, morally wrong, but not stealing.

What if we are scanning the Plugins for Malwares/Virus before installing it?
Any developer can answer this if it's still safe after scanning it and it comes out clean in the scan?

He stated it was a nulled plugin.
Instead of buying the plugin he got his hands on a nulled one. That is stealing from the developer.
Either way the developer's product is being used without him or her getting paid and thus that is stealing.
I could care less if he is stealing but whining about a possible problem because you ripped off someone is rather ironic.

Nulled or not, completly legal thru GPL.
The deveoper is accepting this when he uses the GPL WordPress framework that is free to him, and most developers know that their code will be shared between people when they accept the GPL license, so that they can use the free WordPress framework.
About the whining, it is up to him to make sure he get´s a clean plugin, so that is completly right.
