Any impact on whether I use my old account or create a new one?

Old account is from 2006 with 172,595 views.

Want to start creating content to document and showcase outdoor/hiking type of content. Not familiar with the pros/cons of old account.

Only thing is cannot change the name of the old page right? New one would have more relevant username to match my other social.

Looks like aged YT account with views are great to start YT channel now. I'm also looking for buy an account with videos. "Only thing is cannot change the name of the old page right?" I didn't know it. Are you sure?

I mean you can change the name, but the youtube.com/user/<username> url won't work anymore right?

I once made a test with 2009 youtube account and freshly made account. The same video the same keywords. Honestly, I didn`t see any difference in ranking in the first 24h. If you plan to make quality content it`s better to start it with your own gmail and not created by some bot with mail.ru account, where 1000s of accounts had the same security email. What if your channel got popular and in a year or so youtube will delete all accounts made with the same secuirty email?

Thanks, it is my own (.gmail) account. Didn't buy it, I was able to change the channel name, but cannot change the url.

AFAIK old accounts get this URL path such as youtube.com/user/$username
So even though my account name changed, the url stay the same in the channel.

I guess that is not a big deal?

An old channel is always better

Thanks, I will go with the old one and just change the name.
AFAIK old accounts get this URL path such as youtube.com/user/$username <-- do you think this part matter in long run?

You mean you would like to change the channels URL? I think it should be possible but I think the channel needs to have at least 100 subscribers. Just go to your Creator Studio classic - Channel - Status and features, and on the last row there should be the Custom URL option, see if you're eligible.

Although my experience is quite limited, I've had decent success with new channels (on new Gmail) so I'm not sure if it makes a difference if it's aged. Personally I would probably just start fresh, new Gmail and YT account.
