Hello there bhw community!
Friend of mine have a pretty big website (medical advices, health care etc is a domain) like i mention in tittle it has pretty good monthly traffic, considering that we are from small country and its very specific niche 300-400k monthly is really amazing number.
SEO is fantastic, pretty much 8 out of 10 words medicine wise his site is on first place on google.
Long story short, he didnt monetize his web site so far - he had just few banners and that's it. But MAIN problem is that website is 12 years old... And its on joomla (i know right)
so question for experts how and does he can "transfer" to wordpress? I know, it will be a HUGE job for someone and that person will ask tons of money, but lets speak in theory if someone decide go with it and make totally new website on wordpress how google will rank it? If that person literally copy/paste all links and 99% of text from a current website.
Btw site have about 5-6k pages and i am aware it will be a few month job for someone, main question is it possible to keep this ranking if he make totally new website from scratch with keeping all infos/links etc...

Thanks in advance for help and possibly advice.

There are plugins you can use to import all of your posts, images, categories, etc from Joomla to Wordpress.
I can't say how well they work, as I haven't tried them, but theoretically, a transfer shouldn't be that hard.
Remember to take a backup first...

Thanks for fast response, i have talked with few ppl around and they told me some really pessimistic words (maybe they just wanted to increase price for potentially service)
I will check for plugins, hopefully that can be a cheap solution.

Well, yeah, I mean, it's going to be a lot of work to redesign, upload, 301 old urls, make sure everything is formatted correctly, write meta data, etc.
I imagine nobody would want to get involved in such a project unless they were getting paid a reasonable sum.

May be it will possibly transfer from joomla to wordpress but in this case ranking is the main issue. What if you create the same design in wordpress through any plugins then redirect joomla site to wordpress. In that case all the traffic convert in your site but from the scratch no one can guess is it work or not.

If you can keep the url structure / content / links as the same there will be no issue. For example, if the URLs has .PHP extension at back don't strip that. Just let the URL be same as before. Make sure to make a backup.

You are not changing the domain, you only changing from Jommla to WP, how big is the site? I had no experience in WP a year or so back and after few failed attempts I now have several WP sites that look amazing and are ranking too.
I’m not sure why are you scared of doing it. You can easily do it yourself using elementor or similar themes ( I liked elementor because it was so easy to work with and it gave me very nice looking sites).
If I have hired someone to do it, they would have easily asked me for $2,000+
I wish I have your traffic, lol. One site I have is in health and beauty.

Try speaking to wordpress support. I am sure they can help migrate from Joomla to Wordpress. You may consider using WP VIP for end-to-end execution on this. You can do it yourself too. Doing it yourself will take months if you do not have expertise in WP or Coding.

Google doesn't care about underlying tech whether it is wo or joomla or simple plain html.

As long as you keep the content and url structure intact, your ranking will not suffer. But if you do proper onpage optimization, you might get ranking boost.

Start monetizing your website immediately either through ads or affiliate programs.

At same start migration project. Either you do it yourself or hire some freelancer as soon you get money from monetization.
