Alright,

19K followers account here. Always managed to get 5-10K likes on pictures like one year ago. After a year of inactivity, decided to restart IG because I will be traveling the world soon and while being a financial trader I make money and travel. I want to start growing on IG again but it seems impossible now these days. I post really nice pictures and engagement on them is 100 likes'ish out of the 19K followers !

Is my account restricted in how people see me ?

I read that it is hard and you need to engage, so is botting still a good option ? I assume not really ..
Are there still accounts out there growing zero to HERO or is that period done forever with blackhat people ?

I kind of feel as if it is impossible now to start a good account and grow it.

Im new but from what i have read it is harder to obtain the same results in a short amount of time using bots, since follow,like,dm, etc rates are lower than before.

My guess is that the people that followed you are inactive or just lost interest

My advice is to grow your account by hand posting your own content and have baby bot accounts with your profile in the bio

When you said "restart" I felt you were starting a new account.

You should start a brand new account. The current IG algorithm hates long hiatuses (unless the account is really small).

So better to start fresh, fresh.

I prefer using my old account to be honest. It has 19K followers on it so why start fresh .. I assume growing like 10K monthly isn't easy anymore like It used to be so I don't think starting fresh is that good.

All I'm saying is what you "prefer" may not be what's best. The algorithm is super sensitive.

On top of that it all depends on posting strategy, content, and other matters. I'm growing an account that grows by 5k a week. So it's definitely possible. You just need to analyze your niche and see what other accounts are doing. Take some notes and create a bomb ass strategy.

The key is your crap followers...you have to start over in one way or another but either way you have to get rid of them. IG HEAVILY punishes bad engagement.

The problem is that you had a good account. But you had, it's past.

Between two, during all these last 12 months, many followers are now inactive, or even do not even know who you are. It is therefore normal that you don't reach the same commitment rate of a year ago.

I would also advise to start another account, or try to sell your current one and buy another one already with a few followers.

If you really want to keep it, you will have to do a lot of sorting and delete a lot of inactive followers from your current IG account.

Why do I have to delete the old followers. It is negative for for my account if I don't get interaction from my current follower base ?

Instagram looks at your engagement and will decide if they should show your account to your followers before they show other content.

Because you haven't posted in a while they noticed that no one is liking your content and decide to show someone elses content before they show yours.

This means mean you post your post gets pushed down the feed as they put all the active accounts first because they want people to stay on the platform as long as possible.

Why do they do this?

Because Instagram only makes money when they show the user ads and if they show them content they don't like they will have users start to leave the platform or spend less time on it.

Your followers may love the content you post but Instagram sees that they haven't engaged with your account in a while and will think they're not interested anymore.

So like i said they'll push your content down and show them pages that they have engaged with recently.

Also if you use bots you could be shadow banned.

But thats a whole other story...
