So I see there are channels that are uploading mostly old movies with no copyrights contracts, but a lot of movies that I tried to upload myself are copyright claimed. Sometimes just a couple of songs in the movie here and there sometimes the video track itself, and the other times no claim at all. My question is:

Did they join an MCN that protects them from YT copy claiming these parts? It's obvious they will never receive a strike for these movies, but how do they avoid those pesky claims?

Some of them usually re-edit the videos in ways that can bypass copyright detection. Its a heavy editing. So it IS POSSIBLE. The downside to that is if the rightful owners ever manually catch them, then they can get strikes and their accounts terminated. And some may have joined MCN, but most MCN don't actually want you messing with copyrighted contents.

No thats not my point, the movies are public domain, those are fake claims, some rodeo show EP 05, on a Hitchcock movie? comon.. but MCN-s can or cannot protect you from that idiotoic claims? Tbh I dont want to file a dispute every second day for a random fake claim.

Hitchcock? Then this could be a problem when published worldwide tru Youtube;

In 1993, the European Union Directive 93/98/EEC came into force and was adopted by the United Kingdom in 1995 (coming into force on 01/Jul/1995). The purpose of the Directive was to harmonise the term of copyright protection within Europe. The Directive specifically protects films for a period of 70 years from the death of the last of the following:
  1. the principal director
  2. the author of the screenplay
  3. the author of the dialogue
  4. the composer of music specifically created for use in the film
Critically, Directive 93/98/EEC was applied retrospectively in the United Kingdom — so, any films that had previously entered the Public Domain would have their copyright restored if they met the above criteria.

Once Directive 93/98/EEC was adopted by the United Kingdom, all of Hitchcock's British films had their copyright restored and were no longer in the Public Domain. As Hitchcock died in 1980, the copyright term of the films is until at least 2050 (being 70 years after his death). Six of the British films were written by Charles Bennett, so their copyright term is until at least 2065 (being 70 years after Bennett's death in 1995).

It's not so simple to use films that are called "public domain" as most of the time the information source is wrong.. I learned this 10 years ago when i uploaded films like this.. Do proper research and don't believe all those blogs and websites telling you it's "public domain", Laws change and public domain can become copyrighted...

"Hitchcock's British films – and many of his early American ones – are often mistakenly believed to be in the public domain. In fact, all of his films are under copyright in the US and UK. Nonetheless, bootlegs of his work continue to be widely disseminated."

Oh, that is interesting to know. Can you explain why didn't the proper copyright owner claimed parts of the movie, and why some random rodeo episodes, at random points in the film?

Maybe the proper owner isn't active on yt to claim, then you get vids in a grey area, a lot of people upload them and some try to claim from other users.. You can fight those claims, but they will exist until the proper owner becomes active. An other option is that the rodeo man has a license to publish, you can't assume by a name he hasn't a license.

Interesting topic. I generally like films that were made before 2010. After 2010, there is complete slag, as for me. However, distributors are also smart guys, so they close the viewing to the best films. My choice is torrents now. It’s more convenient for me to download a new movie or series on my phone using the application - https://showbox.zone/ The phone is always nearby and it’s just convenient for me (although I’m waiting for a replica about a small screen, etc.) But on my laptop, there will be no extra non-licensed information. This is best taken care of right away)

you say "they edit in ways that can bypass copy protection"

fine if that's the case it does not make sense to me.

coz how come then if we download their exact video that was heavily edited and re upload that exact copy, it gets copyright? that's not possible.
shouldn't it work for us just like how it works for them.?

it would make sense if the exact video we downloaded got altered in some way and all the editing lost.but that's not the case, we download the exact version that they heavily edited and then re upload that exact version.

so we should not get copyright..

there is one theory i can put here. Maybe the guys are downloading the movie they find as public domain which maybe others didn't upload yet. then immediately somehow registered this video with content ID as if they own it. so from that point on its like the video is theirs and anyone who re uploads will get notified by content ID as copyright claim coz these guys already fake registered that movie with content ID pretending to be the owner just like how people false copyright claim to get your revenue.

could be a similar trick
