**This is a PROOF OF CONCEPT method. I am sure that there are many many fun ways to twist this to achieve different goals depending on your markets/targets.**

I have recently obtained a Wifi Pineapple Nano from Hak5 (https://www.wifipineapple.com/). If you are not familiar with the Wifi Pineapple it is advertised as a penetration testing tool that can do anything from man-in-the-middle attacks to AP spoofing. The AP spoofing is the part that I am going to leverage with this method.

I had a lot of fun with this, I hope you do too.

Note: This can be with any rouge wifi AP. There are many tutorials using PFSence and Kali Linux to do this same thing (which is free), the Wifi Pineapple just make it easier and more portable.

**Last thing, don't drink the Kool-aid with the wifi-pineapple. Its a fun toy, but its not going to make you a ton of money or expert hacker. I got mine as a gift and didn't pay for it.

Highly suggest you to add a virustotal scan to that file.

So whats the method? I dont think you said. If you are just sharing the tool, you should place the thread in download section and perhaps retitled this since the title seems misleading...I dont see a method explained here.

Its explained within the PDF. I couldn't get the graphics to work properly in a post and the first pic gives an explanation of the method.

In a nutshell it shows you how to setup a portable wifi access point using a Wifi Pineapple device to spoof AP names (among other things) to get devices to wifi devices to automatically connect. Once the people are utilizing the AP you can do a content locker, insert a hidden landing page, force a landing page or even a "man-in-the middle scenario. Many ways to inject ads or get people to fill out forms.

So if you live in an apartment building, you can set up this hotspot and make money off people using your internet? I've got unlimited downloading and 100 megabits per second so I wouldn't mind if that were the case.

I saw this on another forum... be careful doing it. Some people were hijacking public wifi in malls and getting arrested lol

You could do that defiantly. If you are static in one place and using a content locker I would have it 're-lock' every 1 or so and rotate ads between different affiliate networks.

**Advice**
I would put (upgrade) the pineapple with some high-gain antennas in scenario of a apartment building for better range.

I can do this with my android phone dude.

You are correct, the method can be done with any device that you can set up what you need on. This uses the ease of use that the wifi pineapple provides. Again, this is not a new method....just a twist on it.

The thing I like is that out of the box it works. Also the captive portal and all the other pieces are ready to go with a click of a button. My favorite part is that the pineapple listens for peoples devices broadcasts for hotspots they have already connected to and reply's as them. So if my home AP is "BillyHome" it will listen for my broadcast and reply back that the pineapple is "BillyHome". A really cool feature.

**This is a good video for a primer of what I am trying to explain.

Yes, You are right.. This is only a twist, not a new one..

But in which, we can find new characters or called features, which is very useful..

Thank You for sharing.. It's interesting.. :)

so without pineapple no chance?

Not at all. I am just explaining how to do it this method utilizing the pineapple.

You can replace the pineapple with anything you want and can get working.
