Is there a reason to buy an expired domain if it was expired 10 years ago, never registered after that, but has really strong do - follow links? Will the domain have an advantage over new domains?

Hard to answer this question. I would go for it though. Better than a new domain with no backlinks.

If a domain has a history and good backlinks, then why not give it a try? Today you can’t say anything for sure without having tested it, I think

I'd say its better than a brand new domain.
