if the metrics are same can an old domain have much power to rank?

If you are good with link building and got proven SEO techniques then doesn't really matter.

Of Course Old Domain Has More Power Than New Domain !

Yup. Pick a old name for an affiliate site but if you are starting a brand, go with new. If you are REALLY LUCKY you'll get both in one domain. All the best!

100% Aged domain is your best bet. Ive been trialing this for years and I always notice a significant lag time on fresh domains.

Yes, older domains are much easier to rank than new ones, as long as they have clean records. That’s why it’s important to know whether a domain you’re looking into buying has any strikes against it.

no doubt is old domain , imaging the previous owner build lots of backlinks and best quality ones

but again is hard to find , also need some luck for me I using news , so yea ..slow .....

Old domains holds authority and it helps a lot in building trust in Search Engines' eye and achieve good ranking. Since you wish to rename everything what you can do is build a new website (on the new domain name you want) and place a 301 permanent redirect on your old site and also use rel="author" on your new website pages. You will get link juice of your old domain and the traffic too.

In the words "Old is Gold", I think Old domain is better than new domain, because old domain work fast and it's powerful.
not really. Every domain name has track record. how many time they going down. deindex or not in search engine. and how many links did linked to the old domain before
