Heyo,

Ive read a thread at the WF created by John Dunham (right?) about directories. He sold about 20,000 directory submits in the last year for $79/month each and of course, HIGHER! I like easy methods with only selling as a task so I will give it a shot.

Here in germany, especially in my area the domains like "lawyerinCITY.com" (of course translated into german) are all free to buy. Ill just buy it and rank it. Ill target many niches to rise my income. Every niche got its own price. Like restaurants which are earning not that much per client will have to pay 79? per month for a listing with a personal site and video. It has to be good looking!
Others like lawyers which can earn x,000? per client will have to pay more. Much more. Like 490?/month. I will target as many niches as possible in as many cities as possible. My personal goal for 90 days is 100 clients. They will pay me between 79 and 490 euros per month. My goal for 2012 is 30,000? passive each month with this. Its my first offline attempt but I know I will succeed. Taking action is the hardest part. When this is done I only have to optimize my selling. 1-3 sales a day with convincing statistics (websites has to get traffic but its easy cause germans are fools and don't do much SEO so Ill rank fairly high ;)) won't be that hard to achieve. Sending out 20 letters a day will be a good start. Ive looked around and spotted about 120 restaurants in my city. 80 plumbers, 65 roofings and fucking 130 lawyers. I know its ultimate unreal to get all 130 lawyers but think about 130x490? each month ;) Would be as well as a million PASSIVE per year. Im a person that has no limits in mind. If I want to sign 100 clients, I will.

I dont do coldcalling, direct mailing instead. I would love if you could help me a bit. I want to tell them that I own a website called XXXinCITY.com and its getting good traffic. I want to design them a personal site on it and rent it out. I will tell them that only one client will fit the costs and the website gets XX views. I will add some screenshots of statistics. Do you have any advices for me? Ill act like a big company with a service hotline (automatic answering of course) and a good website. Maybe with a sales video on it.
I could add a disc with a sales video on it to the mail, won't cost that much.
Which Programm is good for? Bought a Macbook this week, iMovie or any other app? Costs won't be a problem, got 100,000 in the bank from CPAs :)

Thanks in advance!

There is a huge writeup about the methods you are talking about from another member here, I cannot remember who did it though. You might search the forum a bit and find it or perhaps someone else will chime in with a link to it.

I know 7878s method and his letter but its not what I want to do ;)

dude we might be able to do a JV. I'm from germany too and have this little 12 year old 5 letter domain lying around that is perfect for sth like this. tried to start this in 2011 and had meetings with a few investors but failed to secure the investment. hit me up on skype the.ag

sent you a request on Skype

I have always liked this idea, but i have never had the balls to move my business offline :/

Nice Thread!
I was thinking in opening a thread like this too! Im in the same quest but for the Spanish Market, there are a lot of unexploited local niches to mount this kind of directories.

Also I already have a website #2 in google for a local service (entretainment rental service) in my area. Now I have it with a WordPress and some articles, but I would like to mount a Business Directory there and charge a small monthly fee.
Then Rinse and repeat with several different niches.

The Main Question will be, what is the best/easy Business Directory Script Out there? Probably a Joomla addon? I Will need some advice on this! Also Is Joomla as easy to rank as is it WP?
Maybe there is a WP plugin for this... I will look for it.

Thanks in Advance!

I think WP is much easier. The technical aspect isn't the hard one. Selling is the problem ;)
