Old Aged Domain vs New domain with 301 redirect?

So say for example I bought a very strong auctioned domain of the niche I am after, with all the strong backlinks it has before, and the traffic is still there.

Is it wise to create a newly branded domain and 301 redirect that auction domain,
or is it okay to just use the old aged auction domain and rebuild the site there?

I would use the aged domain if it has no spammy backlinks.

No, it's not spammy at all. They're actually good links coming from authority websites.

Go ahead to use it. But do not link out of it as soon. Give it upto 5 weeks. Have seen that Google somehow disregards links from expired domains since it cud be a pbn.

Matt Diggity suggest wait upto 36 days before linking out of domain. If using it as money site, create content with old permalinks n urls. If not, I do use all 404 errors pointing to homepage
