Ok what am I missing? Gift cards

Holy crap I have been making stealth ebay accounts for many years, I sell on ebay and amazon in large amounts and yet I do not get why so many people use gift cards.

Don't usually have time to dig as I am operating and making many stealth accounts but I am seeing more and more people using gift cards to purchase items to resell.

WTH am I missing here.

People can find gift cards at heavily discounted prices. Be careful though as you will not know the true source of a lot of these cards (i.e. they may be from stolen card information).

It's very popular to use gift cards to launder money or use stolen gift cards to finance dropship operations. I just had a friend contacted by the "IRS" that he owes taxes and he can pay it off at a discount if he just bought Amazon gift cards and sent it to them.

So they are using them to pay the dropshippers for the orders. Why not just use their own credit cards even if stealth they do not care as long as they are paid.

I just watched a video where a person has 600 plus gift cards. Now that is a ton of gift cards. He is doing something sketchy then I assume.
 
i would assume gift cards make it harder to trace the money to the person

This is risky for the drop shipper because the only way the credit card processor will stand with the seller in ecommerce if dispute is filed is if packages are shipped to the credit card's address on record.
