Ok, im using joomla for some sites and just noticed that they look differently in firefox vs internet explorer

i looked at them on IE today in horror. They're all ********ed up. The content doesnt even load for the most part...........

I don't even know where to start

yes joomla sucks in ie, so i switch over to wp now. Time to switch.

is there no way to fix it? i dont know wp

look around on the joomla extensions website. i believe there are some plugins there that help fix IE errors. Also mabey use a different template? Without knowing what your site is its hard to diagnose the problem. As shitty as it is alot of idiots still use IE explorer. I know that there is a plugin that wil automatically display a warning to IE users that they need to upgrade their browser in order to see their site.

I already made enough research for the plugins and nothing got fixed as we could not get plugins to fix the site for ie7.

yea i think i just found a plugin but im looking for a better one

lets see...............oh my god i cant believe this, probably cost myself so much money

Don't feel bad, I've done this to plenty of sites back in the day... this one incident had me go nuts when I discovered my hoplink button didn't appear in ie6 because it doesn't render .png's

Talk about a waste...I can't believe people still use a browser thats a decade old

It's not the fault of Joomla that your sites are looking bad on IE. I build 50+ sites with Joomla and the only problem I had with IE was with some templates I used.

So try another template.

It's the template you have not being compliant not Joomla. Get a different up to date template.

Yep, you guys are right. It's the template, plus, i never updated my IE browser s not too bad. Most of the sites, once the browser was updated, were alright. Just a few were crap. Changing them now :)

Thank you all for the help

The problem is not in Joomla, but in your template.

I'm running almost 40 pages on Joomla, and I do my own coding from PSD, and every single web-page is the same way in IE6, as it's in Chrome, or FF.

Check your css with css validator (google it).
Debugging in IE sux hard, download "stylizer" and compare both sites.
Use firebug to see it there's anything missing or any error.
Plus... Warn your users to upgrade IE :P

Comparing joomla to wordpress doesnt fix anything. lol. Sites VS Blogs

It must be something with your theme. I use Joomla and my sites look the same in every browser, well, maybe a really small differences that any user won't even notice.

Yes, it is not really related to Joomla. However, as a former Joomla user and now very happy WP user I also would recommend: switch!

it is your template, I have a joomla website and had the same problem. i had it when I made a template through artisteer.

I will have to agree with most of what is already said.

1.The plugins will do nothing for most of the problems
2.Change template and find a designer that knows what he/she is doing
3.Joomla is fine

Your problem is in you Template CSS, and it can't fix by using extensions, you should be check the template css, and if you're know about css, it will be fix from there.
May i know the name of your template?... if you inform me i will try to check it.
