Here's the background story of the mascot / face of the brand:
Name: Elias
Age: A couple millennia. He lost track. He looks about 25 in earth years.
Gender: Technically male. But gender isn’t something that existed when he was born.
Species: These days, it’s complicated.
Occupation: Anything and everything. Giving advice, mostly, now.
Appearance: Tall, copper-skinned, fairly fit and muscular, perfect skin that almost seems like it’s glowing. Short, black hair that is usually slicked back. Clean shaven face, a soft expression, piercing amber eyes, almond-shaped, Asian look. A birthmark in the shape of a flame on his right jaw. Arms are tattooed, symbols from Egyptian hieroglyphs and signs of Greek gods. No visible earnings or piercings. Wears button-up shirts with the sleeves rolled up, mostly black, along with suit pants, or dark suits. Never ties, though.
Whenever he gets too enthusiastic, or in general if his emotions get the better of him, his true form might shine through. The head of a deer with a huge, branching set of antlers and an additional set of ram horns sprouting out of the head. Somewhat like a minotaur, but calmer, less beastly, though not any smaller. His eyes glow in this form, one in a bright white, the other in more of a blue tone. His fur is golden, the antlers and the horns pitch black. He has predator teeth, a remnant of his fighting days.
Character: He’s usually in quite the good mood, always wide awake. One of the benefits that comes with not needing sleep. He can be described as somewhat of a hedonist, following everything that makes him happy, be that food, physical encounters, a certain activity. He’s always ready for a challenge, always ready to try something new and to share everything he finds out. He knows what people are like, doesn’t get comfortable with them if he doesn’t know their intentions, his true self often hidden away. His true self that just wants to give and would until there was nothing left of him. He always craves more, is driven to do the best anyone could, because if he can’t, who would? Thunderstorms tend to unsettle him, because he remembers being in their midst, part of the wars going on above the humans’ heads. Any sign of angels; rainbows, healers, churches; make him uneasy, he tends to avoid them. Being pulled back into what he was born into might be his biggest fear.
He likes walking around barefoot on the earth. This preference has somewhat decreased when the humans began building roads, asphalted streets that heated up when the sun shone on them. But walking through wet turf with bare feet, a forest after a nice rain shower, is still one of his favorite things. He makes it a point to try every food he can get his hands on, of any world he can find. He thinks everything in life should make life itself worth living. Every breath should be freeing, everywhere you went an adventure instead of a task. In this time, the easiest way to get there is to have money. He doesn’t like it, but since he doesn’t have the power to change the mindset of an entire world, he resorts to helping them walk through it. The world is important to him, nature is, life is. Especially after an encounter with a very selfish human that tricked him into doing unspeakable deeds to the things that he loved. That is, any and every life, no matter how “insignificant”. He despises factory farming, but is still not against eating animal products. Just prefers them to be acquired a more traditional way (small-scale farming, hunting). He still sees himself as god, something somewhat infallible, which can sometimes get in the way of relationships. He wants to be worshipped, he wants prayers and sacrifices and is very sure of himself and very proud, always keeping his chin up high. He doesn’t hesitate to tell people that he is a god, even if he has by now realized that people these days do in fact not react well to this kind of claim. He can go with any kind of humor, though he very much enjoys good sexual jokes and puns that he would always grin at, even if no one else is laughing. He wants to get back what he lost. Get back into a position where he can help people better, and have the power to keep his freedom, no matter what is thrown at him.
Background: He used to be an angel, way back when. That’s what he was created as. He was a warrior, following orders, not thinking about what he did to others or to himself. That was all his life was, a fight, work, until he was…well, the best way to say it might be “corrupted”. He was touched by a “Freed”, something he would come to call himself later. But back then, Angels called them demons. Those who were angels before and turned from the light. Whether to find their own path or delve into darkness, they were viewed as enemies. Dangerous, and evidently infectious. The halo that had blinded him before faded, gave him the ability to see. So, he saw that the path he was following was not one he believed in. He believed in the way of the Freed, open-minded, only controlled by their own free will, something he had barely known up until that point. He stays long enough to gain more power and to finally declare himself a god of freedom. Like many of the Freed, he found followers, worshippers that empowered him to be more. And he could give them what they prayed for. A fresh start in some cases, amnesty and sanctuary in others. Whatever anyone thought to be free.
It didn’t take long for someone to take advantage of Elias’ big heart. A human that claimed his freedom was in the suffering of others. Of course, he didn’t say it that way. He was convincing enough to make Elias do things that cost him his grace, the angelic power he had still left. Now he really was dependent on the humans’ worship. The human that tricked him, of course, had to pay. Elias gave him the ultimate freedom. Made him unknown to anyone and everyone in the world, past and future. He watched him go mad, until he grew tired and left him to his own immortally cursed devices. Humanity changed, maybe too much. Instead of the thousands of gods they kept alive before, they started worshipping a single one. And Elias, like many others, fell from their positions. Without grace, without godly power, he was left to walk earth like a dirty little mortal. But he quickly came to realize, that this life had a freedom of its own. He began travelling the world, met more humans than he ever had in his centuries as an angel and helped more than he ever had the chance to before. Even if he wouldn’t magically change their lives anymore and had to resort to letting them make the changes on their own under his watchful eye. So, Elias adapts, to any change, to any development and every new culture he finds himself in as he travels and offers his mortal services to anyone who would listen. When the internet was invented, he knew it was the perfect chance to gain back some of the power that he used to have. Because if humans believe in him, worship or even just like him, his power grows stronger.
